Will need to heat up the other end and get some chain to finish it.
Update on the oil pan. The used oil pan I had installed a month or so ago, had a leak coming from between the skid plate that is spot welded onto the bottom of the pan and the pan bottom itself. I could not see the hole or split from inside or outside but it dripped from there. So, ordered up a new oil pan and OEM gasket and installed it. So far, so good.
Finally got around to installing the upper and lower boots on the tranny and transfer case shifters.
Bought a good used FJ40 front floor mat, cleaned it up and installed it with a bit of trimming here and there.
Decided to fab up a simple aluminum bracket to mount up a newer FJ40 style rear-view mirror in place of the stock one. The OEM FJ45 mirror was mounted high on the windshield frame and from a normal seated position, I could not see clearly out the rear window as the mirror reflected the upper rear cab at the top of the rear window.
This newer FJ40 style mirror has the drop arm which allows clear vision thru all of the rear window. Did not want to make any new holes in the windshield frame, so the simple bracket worked well.
Friend Wayne finished up the hook with the help of some heat. Nice job.
