We will be meeting Kevin and a couple of other Rising Sun folks in Central City at 9:30 am at the cemetery.

Here is a link to a map posted on the Rising Sun site. I used the map, Google Earth and my GPS mapping software to plot the route and upload to my GPS, so I have the route ready to go.

And a good discussion on the dangers of recovery. Keep reading down the responses.

There should be plenty of snow. The news reported that Blackhawk received 48" of snow yesterday. Post some photos for the rest of us!

Just read a post on Rising Sun, there was about a foot of fresh snow on the trail. Should make a fun trip, if Luke isn't too burned out :steer:

I was really burned out last night. Spending all night trying to unstick your 4x4, then Couple hours of sleep, then up first thing, and digging in snow for a couple hours trying to unstick your 4x4 = tired. I will still be in for next week. You said a foot of new, how much is that total with the old snow? Wondering what truck to bring.

Glad you're feeling better, I'm sure a good night sleep has something to do with it. Here is the thread on RS, post 9 has a picture. Shouldn't be too bad because when they ran it a couple of weeks ago there were places with no snow but they also found some drifts to play in.

I keep all the Saturdays in Feb open, except the one when you plan the snow trip. Bummer! Are you sure you're going to try it this soon after "the big dump"??

The weekend of the 18th is out for me but I'm open for Sat. the 25th. I kind of feel like I was just on a snow run last weekend ;) How do others feel?

I'm up for this weekend or the 25th. 18th might be possible.

Date change to Feb 25th

Date change to Feb 25th, I'll change the thread title to reflect this once I get admin privileges, Trevor. In the meantime, if any moderator is reading this please change.

By the way MUD has changed their editing policy and a user can no longer edit their posts after a set amount of time, which I don't recall. For example, there is no way for me to edit my original post.

Right now this date looks good for me too! Recent snows and wind should have made it a challenge....it wasn't much of one in January!

That would be great if you could make it, having someone that know the the trail would make it that much better. I have the trail that Rising Sun takes gps'd but that is it, never been there.

Thinking I'll haul up Wild Rice. Anyone else taking their hard core rigs? I'll pre run up there and see what the snow levels look like.
