Thanks for posting. China Wall is one our regular winter trips and everyone always has a great time on this one. It's a perfect trail for stock rigs and has a couple of play areas for those wanting more. There should be enough snow to make it a bit more fun. Hope you can make it!

What time do you fellas think we'll be getting back to W Park after the run? I'd like to come but have some plans that evening.

Okay, never been, but I'll give it a shot:

Google says it'll take 50 minutes to get from Western Gas to the trailhead (77 & 212A) - Probably closer to 45, so..... 45 minutes

At least 15 minutes at the trailhead to BS and deflate..... 15 minutes

My trail guides says it's a 3 hour trip (add snow to the equation and ???) ..... 3 hours

An hour or so for lunch and continued BS session..... 1 hour

Another 15 - 30 for inflating and final BS..... 30 minutes

Drive back to Western Gas ..... 45 minutes

Whatever it take to get home from Western... ???

So, if we leave right at 9:00.... I'm thinking we'll be back passing the Western at around 3:30.

Add confounders of snow, number of rigs, number of obstacles, true amount of BSing.... ???

What do you guys think? At all accurate?

Your figures work for me. :)
The wife and I will see you all at the Western @ 8:30am saturday.

I think that is a pretty good estimate. I don't know if I even air down on this one. There is always the option of leaving the group early if needed.

I won't have my Ham license until April at the earliest, but I bought a little handheld radio that I'd like to test out (listening only) for this trip.

Can anyone PM me the HAM frequency we'll be using tomorrow, so I can set up the radio?

I'll be on the MARC repeater system driving up in the morning and then we will likely be on 146.460 simplex once we meet up.

Here is the MARC repeater information.

Notice there are 70cm repeaters in this system and including the Springs repeater. Keep this in mind when radio shopping.;)

Brad, Listening is a great way to learn the etiquette. Thanks for the link in the HAM radio information thread.

Found my camera with a dead battery this morning, so all I had was the cell phone...anyway, here are a few.
