And that's why I relocated the coolant drain on my radiator. Cool tool. Where'd you get it?

Apparently my coolant drain got relocated yesterday too.

Probably came from Gregg's.

Boss was handing them out a year or two ago.

Was likely intended for it to be used at work, but he wasn't super clear on that...

Apparently called "forma funnel" a few places sell them, maybe even Napa and Walmart.

Bit pricy on amazon, I've seen them listed for half that, which is more like it, but they are pretty handy for redirecting a leak.

Amazon product ASIN B017MTFIYE

That would be a darn useful thing to have around! I'm curious where you got it too.

Speaking of favorite tools, I see you have a Stihl saw in the background. I have a 90's vintage Stihl 034 and love the thing to bits. Scored it for $50 off craigs. Had to put a bit of time into fixing it up (had been dropped), but turned out it was actually in great shape with low hours. 11.6lbs and 4.1hp, with direct testosterone injection. Power is exceptional for a 56cc saw. To be honest, it's right up there as my 'favorite tool'.

That saw I bought new maybe 5 years ago. It's been good. Spent most of it's life with the bar totally buried in logs too big for it, but still always goes. I should probably get a bigger one, but I'm trying to direct swmbo away from firewood, because I freaking hate dealing with it.

When you die, I get all your paper manuals, right?? 😬

Odd manuals I picked up over the years

Probably the best manual, lots of pictures and rebuilds of components on a cruiser

I have a bunch of those. Does anyone want them? I don’t know if they’re worth anything.

You say way before the web...

then why the www.advanceadapters.com address? Must’ve been forward thinking. ;)

Mine from ‘96 didn’t have it... nor did Downey manual.

Got an old Downey Catalogue? One of the original leaders in modifications and designs. I'm not home or I'd look.
I have 4 boxes in the the storage shed of magazines and catalogues. So much money wasted, but back then no one
had a web to surf.

I have a bunch of that stuff too. Manafre, sor...

Have a years worth of Toyota trails if anyone wants them too.
I need to do a purge of old guitar mags as well. I spent a fortune on those pre internet. :bang:

Funny, the green 40 I started with had a ton of aftermarket parts that probably came from Downey. Like those fancy SBC headers that wrapped over the steering shaft.

Then it got parked for 25 years and it all rotted out.

I gave years of TT copies to Cam W, I just asked he passed them on in the future

This is the most comprehensive 2F manual I have ever seen, I have found the older manuals are far more invaluable.

Resurrecting an old thread but it was a close call between the plasma cutter and two post lift. The lift won out. I love working on these old trucks but getting older and hate rolling around in the dirt under them. If anyone on the Island has a project that requires a lift for a day PM me. I'm in the Cowichan Station area and am fortunate enough to have one to let others use. The plasma cutter is fun though and I'm sure it will get a ton of work when I get to the BJ40 project behind it.

I would very much like to take you up on borrowing a hoist for a day. I’ve got a transfer case to regear.
Would be much easier. I’ll get a hold of you when I’m back.
