Do some searching here on MUD to see what others have done, I know Georg at Valley Hybrids sells a Saginaw pump set-up, but I don't know the specific applications.

Let’s say I wanted to go another route other than the Tercel and wanted something more new - what are some of the other options I have

take a close look at these photos ,

- i have a complete Pump w/ cast iron bracket assy. , w/ resovour assy , attached , NO missing Hardware ,
- and NO broken Adjust Arm Tap up top Onter like you currently have

- the Original Tercel Pump Adjust bar / Arm ,

-
" If @4Cruisers think's this one ( The Tercel one ) will work for you , even if you have to add a 3rd mounting hole to water pump side of bracket " for fine tuning purposes .....

- you have to remove the current pump set up anyway to swap the pulley around most likley anyway

- I would only Recommend Replacing the Resouviour 0-Ring mentioned above #44326A , also seal #

44302A , most important : 44302H Snap Ring Retainer ,
DO nOT SKIP OVER this crital .98 cent part

- below are all bullet points for your to review , circled in RED

- Im sending you a PM also

Hey guys,

So I’ve finally got around to working on my PSP and have the one the PO had attempted to install off now and have new unit to now install.

Questions:

1. Now that I have the old PSP unit off and am looking at both on the ground I’m trying to figure out where the choke breaker line that goes from the carburetor choke breaker to the old PSP would attach to the new PSP?

I see where the high pressure line is attached and of course the hose that attaches to the reservoir but now I’m puzzled as a conversion newbie ;) trying to orient myself...

2. With respect to the new unit that has an extra pulley that’s small (pictured) - trying to figure how to orient that with everything else...any example pics that I could follow?

I basically just need a lot of help doing this - hah...
Anything you guys got for me is help.

It attaches at one of the water pump bolt locations. I ran a stud through the water pump housing and threaded it into the engine so some was sticking out. I then threaded a hexagon sleeve onto the end of the stud and tightened it down against the water pump housing, leaving about half of the internal threads. I then threaded another short stud into the sleeve and tightened it down. The hole in the adjusting bracket slips over the part of the the stud that sticks out, then it's secured with a lock washer and a nut.

Your old PS pump looks like the one on my '93 4-Runner with the fuel injected V6. On the 4-Runner (and mini-trucks) that vacuum fitting is used in a system that increases your engine rpms during tight turns. I've never heard of that system being used on a Land Cruiser. Who knows how the PO set that up, or why.

Weird ... so now I have to figure out where to attach that line that comes from the carburetor choke breaker

I guess I would just cut off the spliced third end and just get those two pieces together....

That's what I would do. BTW, that plastic fitting is for a drip irrigation system.

I know LMAO 🤣 ... when I was looking at that I was like “this mutha ****a” ... I wish I could ask him about his thought process...I mean maybe it’s genius

like maybe this was totally thought out and this guy was a rocket scientist who thought up the go-around for attaching that With a fricken drip irrigation connector to three way splice that choke breaker line. Wow

So that would mean this choke breaker line I’m pointing to would go down about 7 inches into this pressure fitting hooked into the manifold directly below carb....does that sound correct?

No place to attach my adj arm here that I can see where it lines up at all..I’ll have to figure out something else. Or else just not have it and just wrap the belt around and then tighten as much as possible with some sort of stabilizer to hold it in the position

what about using the water pump bolt thats used to adjust the smog pump best tension ?

it will require the ( 9#### -51040 bolt longer ones and a collar spacer ...

Talking about this one ? I’m thinking of instead of doing crazy things to get this thing adjusting, to just attach the adj. arm to this bolt and just have it wedge the PSP from budging...and if I needed to service I could just take it off and boom...I don’t need it to be able to adjust that’s a pipe dream right now

Ya wowwww...looks like 2 of 5 correct? I’m still figuring out this damn car and what the hell this PO had done ... “engine rebuilt” by who? Someone that cuts corners?

U know what’s weird though is that there is a little minor gap (I’ll try to picture) and Im wondering if I even see a hole for a bolt in that engine block .... I mean maybe I’m not seeing it because it’s only a little space but still ... you can’t tell in pic
