failed emissions (TX)

My truck just failed emissions...Everything passed except:

At 2700 RPM HC's 391ppm and it should be 220 or less

They were recommending a tune up including new wires. Wires are 2 yrs old, plugs maybe about the same. Truck is driven about 5K miles/yr

92 4x4 22re 205K miles

That will help and would probably get you where you need to be. I run a higher when I get mine sniffed. I didn't see any pic's of the install Glad she's up and running though

the high HC means unburned fuel. so check ignition timing and ignition system.
