Fab body mounts for a 73 pig

I need help, i have a body mount problem. I honestly need to redo all of my body mounts, i would like to fab them out of scrap metal i have around the house. However most of my body mounts on the pig right now are too far gone to get deminsions from. I wondered if anyone has done this before, does anyone have pics of these, advice or specifics of deminsions? Any help would be great.

I have searched for this on the forum with no sucess, if there is a thread out there with helpful info i would appreciate a lead.

This is going to be my dilemma on my front floor pan mounts. Once I pull the body off of the frame this Christmas break, I can post pics of the best ones that I have and complete some CAD drawings and post them up with dimensions & such. First of all, we need rubber pucks or pads or something. Any suggestions on getting these?

check some of the build threads here in the 55 section....I found some useful pics and ideas there. If you are not doing a body-off, it is much easier to cut out sections of floorboard and build from top down-at least for the front mounts anyway. When I rebuilt mine, I didn't try to reproduce original body mounts...I just made nice beefy mounts that fit the application. I even used ribs off of the bottom of a pickup bed to replace rusty floor supports.

Lemme see if I can dig up a few pics of mine. I rebuilt all but the one's behind the rear seats, but I opened those up for future cleaning. I hope they're not caked with mud like the others I cut all that low hanging rear end off, so I don't know how you're gonna rebuild those

Guys thanks for the responses, i have yet to check for a source on the rubber pucks yet. I would like to think that some heavy duty styles would be at a local auto parts store, who knows? The pics are great, i thought about just making some to fit the application however i'm the type that once i know what the factory size and deminsions where i will most likely diviate from them anyways.

Wow, CAD of the mounts would be exactly what i'm looking for.

Thanks 1973Guppie. They do still offer the rubber, washers and sleeves for 110 plus shipping. However they don't sell the actual hardware (no big deal) or the body mounts themselves. This would be the easy way though when putting in the new rubber.

Does anyone have detailed pics of their factory body mounts? Mostly the body mounts on the rear of the pig.

Calico Kid just got some new rear body mounts installed on his Pig...Mark A. installed them. I hear they are just FJ40 body mounts welded to the frame.
Looked good. Maybe check with Mark A. and see where he got them?

Hey now that sounds like an idea, might just have to start sourcing some 40 body mounts. Could be quicker just to fab my own to fit each spot, who knows. Thanks for the lead.
