There is some residual soreness with the memory, so couldn't be anyone in our group...

Sounds like it was

Speaking of Very Large, we were hanging out around the fire, when Bomar whipped out his Very Large package

Bomar likes his brisket like Fireman likes his men blue Tundras - BIG.

He picked this Flintstone-size mammoth a week out from the trip, worked his magic on the smoker, then bagged & tagged it for the trip, hopefully sans botulism.

Weighing in at over 9 lbs cooked, the ten of us would have our work cut out for us. Fortunately, aside from the stop at the PPC in TorC, we’d eaten nothing but meat up to the point. We were in the best shape of our careers to tackle this behemoth.

Bomar sliced it up and cooked it on the Skottle, with a fresh bottle of Rudy's for those who wished to take it to a different planet.

Beno, who has grown accustomed to a diet of acorns, pine nuts, and kale since moving to Boulder, had sworn off meat for the rest of the trip after OD'ing in the days prior.

We peer-pressured him into trying it, and he immediately fell off the wagon and ate a few pounds by himself.

I threw another log on the fire, and we listened to Bomar, as he tested Taylor's threshold for punishment by telling us all about his recent circumcision and the easy way to gain an extra millimeter or two :flush:

With the proximity of all the communications equipment, most of us had light-speed internet service. Nolen set up his hotspot for those that got cut off from their provider for stealing too much bandwidth from the tower...

I get some more wood on the fire, as everyone preps their feet for the firewalk to come later.

The lights looking at Hatch and whatever the other city was amazing...great campsite

You had to walk away from the fire and over to the edge of the cliff to spot Hatch. The view was phenomenal. The stars were bright as hell.

Ron had some night shots and Hatch is glowing like a MoFo...

I turned in for the night and Ron stayed up shooting the stars. It looks like an alien craft is coming in for a landing in his last, most epic shots...

Ron made this before we ever even left home, but I swear this is the Cabello Mountains and that is Hatch off in the distance.
