Great photos Jose! I always enjoy seeing your take on adventure. You have some awesome terrain at your fingertips and that beast of a Cruiser makes it look even better. I got the taste of Cali trails this spring, I'm destined for a return trip and these pics just make me want to expedite!

Thanks man! Love seeing your photos as well. Follow your work on Flickr and saw all the ones from Slick Rock, looks like a great time!

PART-TIME HUBS

In preparation for my part-time 4x4 kit I decided to start off by picking up a set of the Aisin 43530-60042 hubs that are a direct fit for our 80s. Only thing I'll need to do is machine a new groove in the birf since I have the longer ABS style. I'll worry about that after I purchase the spool. In the meantime, these are getting stored in the parts cabinet until I'm ready.

At $126.50 each, plus a 5% discount (use code IH8MUD), you can't ask for a better deal http://shop.cruiserparts.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2731_2720&products_id=24443

Great pics once agian. I am jealous of that outing!

That is a great deal on the hubs! You should fire up your new welder for the spool.

Jose,

Thanks again for running the trail with me, it felt great to get back into some trails.

Most def count me in on the next run. I promise I'll get the GoPro vid up somehow some way shortly.

Great pictures and thanks for sharing.

Thank guys! @AMMO should have some cool video clips but he's lagging on getting them uploaded to Youtube :)

I was just looking at Beno's old thread about that a few days ago. Still not sure if I'd be comfortable doing that myself. May just bite the bullet and buy the whole spool.

What lift were you running back at this point?

Which point, the pics I just posted? Right now my truck has the old Frankie's lifts. 3.5" I believe with 1" poly spacers to compensate for the added weight.

Going with the Lokka as well most likely ordering in the next month, let us know what your experience is with them.

MORE REAR FENDER SURGERY

In an attempt to maximize wheel travel in the rear without going taller I've started to cut even MORE out of of the rear fenders. I've now cut out as much as physically possible. There is no more curved edge under the door whatsoever. No more vertical body panel in this area. It's completely flush with the inner fender. Made several pie cuts and pushed the inner fender up, trimmed the excess and have started to slowly spot-weld it to the outer body.

This is as far as I've gotten with the welding. Painfully slow process. Metal is very thin so I can't run a bead. Has to be a bunch of spot welds. Switched to .024 wire and have it on the lowest heat setting. Next task will be to remove all the interior body panels and run a few tacks from the inside (top curve of the fender). After that I'll run some kind of adhesive on the inside of the fender to seal it all up, Liquid Nails maybe? Then I'll run some rubberized undercoating goop inside the fender well. Lastly, touch up the Monstaliner on the outside.

I see you still haven't done rear sway drops, any reason?

Those are drop brackets. Would help if they were a bit longer, but you can see how much shorter the stock brackets are
