Steve, measure from the front edge of the roof and tell me how many inches back to make my cut. Give yourself some extra material.

allright, everything is rotted till about 12" back measured from the front. i figure if you can squeeze 16" of roof it'll be great, and give me plenty of room to play with.

and oh yeah......thank you very much!!!!

well i gat a nice little treat the other day!!! thanks friel01!!!
the wifey decided that we should buy a house so the cruiser fund has been diverted to the down payment fund:rolleyes:.i still managed to get the new dash section fitted and installed.looks pretty good i think.

it looks liek the duct tape might interfere with your speddo gauge cluster... so put the gauges in THEN add the tape.

Looks good though.

Dont worry about hte wife stealing your cruiser funds... you have PLENTY of work to do that doesnt really involve serious money.

Nice grill to mate YO
i have seen a few young fellas in hilux's going around and they have pulled the big toyota sticker of there tail gates bar YO

eingine? nope no enigine. i planned on putting the engine in close to last. it seemed to me the best way to go about doing it was from the ground up. the first thing i was gonna do was get some 60 axles re-build them and give em the old cut and turn. for the time being the cruiser funds have been diverted. right now i guess i'm saving for a garage to put it in.

i dipped my feet in the side job thing. it didn't work out the way i figured it would. it seems that the only poeple who want the services of a male prostitute were other males. I was kind grossed out by that. oh well. we'll see how my try at street pharmicuticals works out.

k so we got a house!! yay now i can get to work. so i got the beast home and lifted the chassis off the frame. then i pulled the manual 3 speed. the adapter came off fairly easily, and i got the pto gearbox off the back of the transfer case... seems easy enough. so now i'm in the process of trying to seperate the transfer case and transmission. for some dumb reason i'd thought i'd just be able to slide the shaft off and be done...nope!! does anyone have a link or some help? there has to be some jerky little clip or something i'm missing here. and i'm usually so good at tearing things apart..*sigh*

it seemed some pictures were in order.. the first one is the water that was in the tranny. the third one shows how far i can get the thing apart....it seems the there is an imput shaft from the motor and a second shaft with the gears thats connected to the x-fer case...
