As anyone done a 3B engine swap on an lj70 I'm considering this swap but not sure how it will turn out. I think It should bolt right up with little modification but really not sure. Any advice would be nice.

i have a donner bj70 and have a chance to get a lj70 with no engine
do u guys thing this is a good swap or a waste of time and money???
 
excellent swap
but
you will need to make sure you have the budget.
it isn't as easy as you will first think.
 
done plenty of 6cly and chev swaps but nothing into an LJ, I'd doubt it would be a straight swap from one truck straight into the other (although it helps having a complete donor truck :grinpimp: ) the LJ has a shorter engine bay than the BJ so it'll be tighter in there and the LJ would probably be setup for an R15x gearbox than a H55 if there both manuals. Anything can be done it just depends how much work and money you want to invest in it :)
 
what would need to be done to the lj for the 3b swap ?
does the frame need to be modified in any way?
will the h55 trany bolt up or does all the lj drive line have to come out ?
is there a link on this site of anyone that has done this swap already?

at a guess new engine mounts for the 3b, the H55 will bolt straight back up to the 3b but you'd need to play around with the trans crossmember and mount, pretty sute the LJ rear diff is offset the same as your BJ so the transfercase output will be in the right place, both driveshaft lengths would probably need adjusting, then you've got all the usual hooking everything up and wiring (and ECU if the LJ had one) to sort out
