Hey friends - I am having this weird, ongoing issue with my 100-series where I drive a considerable distance (at least an hour or so), stop - the engine is still hot - and then the truck is having issue starting back up again, struggling, and then even dying in the parking lot.
The prime example would be - driving home from work (long commute), stop at the store to grab "that one thing" and then have the issue in the parking lot.
The shop had a hard time replicating the issue and was pretty stumped. They decided that it may be something with the fuel pump valve - i.e. the fuel pump valve is staying open when the hot engine is turned off, fuel is returning to the tank, and then the fuel has to go a longer distance to get started again - hence the delay, sluggishness, etc. All is resolved once it starts moving again.
To that end, the fuel pump was replaced, but the problem still persists.
In the morning, or when the engine is cold, it starts right up with no issues.
Has anyone ever had or heard of this issue before?
