Hello 200 guys! I have been a long time MUD member, but a new MUD vendor. I have seen a couple threads over here about fire extinguishers so I figured I would pipe in. I have been stocking the ElementFire product at www.huddexpo.com and feedback is good.

This is a very unique high performance extinguisher that should work well for all of us. Not pressurized, smaller, etc.

Here is the thread over in the 100 Series. Element Fire Extinguisher

More info here too - Automotive - Safety - HuddExpo

Some pics of the extinguisher and how it fits in my 80, but please let me know if you have any questions.

I have been stocking the ElementFire product at www.huddexpo.com and feedback is good. I am currently out of stock (the last promo sold me out), but will be back in stock in the next few days. I have extended the free shipping promo I offered up in the 100 Series forum and will also do 10% off and free shipping if you buy two or more.

Watched the video in the linked thread. Very cool little device! I’ve never seen these before, but looks like a great extinguisher alternative.

I kept waiting to see them put out a fire with it...but no luck. Maybe there’s another video beside the one with Jay Leno?

Seems ok for very small fires. The issue is the standoff distance is rather close. A standard fire extinguisher is used about 8 feet from the fire. From the videos, dudes are sticking their hand very close to a fire to get it to extinguish with these sticks.

But I'm not a fire prevention specialist. Just yearly re-cert guy for the gig.

Would be helpful to see a real fire demo.
Does it douse a fire in an engine bay by simply filling the bay with its “cloud”? Or does it need to hit the source directly?

Tried to place a pre-order for two E50 extinguishers, but the code MUDHEO19 did not work and left me at full retail plus shipping. What do I need to do to realize the 10% off and free shipping?

TIA

Sorry about that. Should be good now.

Thanks!

We are thinking of doing a demo to show it a bit better. The interesting thing about these extinguishers is that through its own chemical reaction the Element extinguisher fights a fire by releasing a gas. This gas attaches itself to the oxygen surrounding the fire robbing its ability to stick to the chain of combustion. Basically, making the oxygen unusable to the fire. The gas is also heavier than the oxygen and can surround the fire along with sort of "damping" it down, if that makes sense. I have heard of people starting back at 20 feet or so, getting the powder jet going and then walking towards the fire sweeping it away as they get closer very effectively putting out the fire. It behaves similar to conventional extinguishers, just much safer and effective, in my opinion. I have also heard of it being thrown into the interior of a car then closing the doors and it puts out the fire...I thought that was interesting too.

Essentially, it bonds with the oxygen starving the fire of fuel. I know a local fire fighter, so we may try to work something out for a good demo.

Here is one on YouTube, but there are many more - ELEMENT - CAR FIRE DEMONSTRATION

Sorry about that. I put the wrong codes up.

For free shipping on one - use MUDHEO19
For 10% off and free shipping on a purchase of two or more - use MUD2HEO19

Thanks!

David

OK, I must be an idiot. Finally got free shipping, but no way could I get the 10% discount:

The 100 model isn't that much bigger and has 2x the burn time. No off the shelf brackets though.

Yes, I will get a picture of the 100 next to the 50 tonight. It is big enough though, that it will not fit in the console or glove box.

Was looking at the seat rail bracket @LC4LIFE

Cool. I can get some better pictures up or a short video tonight, I am not totally convinced it's the best solution though and most likely, will not be a permanent part of my product mix. I just kind of ended up with them. I couldn't quite get it to work and look like I wanted in my 80. We need to find out if the FEM from @NLXTACY will work.

I really need to find a local or Denver 200 guy to take a look too.

Here is the picture of the E100 next to the E50 along with what comes in the bracket kit. The E100 is just about 2.75 inches longer than the E50. As mentioned before, there is no off the shelf mount for the 100, but I checked the QuickFist I use for my axe and its perfect for the 100, you would just have to consider the speed at which you need to remove it in case of emergency.

It also looks like the seat mounting bracket will work for the 200 Series.

Tracking still shows the E50's will land tomorrow and we are going to do our best to get them all shipped tomorrow too.

I’m a local COS 200 guy if you need something!
