anybody familiar with the timeframe for the electric speedos?
I've got a project in the wings for swapping a newer speedo into my gauge cluster. The current cable is dead, and it's almost impossible to source one for a first gen with an L52 (unusual transmission length, this transmission was unique to the 83 year model).

Since marlin has an adapter for converting mech speedo signals to electronic, I figured, I'd give it a try, but I need to know which year speedometers to look for.

All help is appreciated.

I think they made the switch in 91-92ish but I don't think it was an all or nothing thing... some engine/trans combos still held onto the cable for a while.... Pretty sure there were no 84-88/9 style dashes with electric speedos...

I'm thinking that the 2nd Gen 22RETs were electronic speedos?
