Hello everyone.
I am having electrical issues with my 99 lx470. I went to start it and it wouldn’t start the first time and I thought I was having the crank no start issue. I tried a couple more times and the car started then died after turning on only for a couple of seconds. I was then thinking it was the fuel pump. I left it alone and tried to start it about 30 minutes later. When I went to start it again it started just fine, I let it idle for a little bit and when I went to push the brake pedal the car died. I tried turning it on again and it started but if I turned on my headlights, rolled windows down, or pushed the brake pedal to get the brake booster to run, it would die

A few days ago I replaced my brake master cylinder and it went fine and the car drove good afterwards and I didn’t experience any of these problems and drove the car for a few days following the replacement.

The weird thing is I drove the car normally that morning and didn’t have a problem. I also noticed that what I think is the engine ground cable looks melted, and I’m pretty sure that’s the problem and hoping it is, but also what would cause it to melt in the first place?

If it is just that what should I replace it with and how can I prevent that from happing again.

Perhaps check for corroded or missing ground straps. That melted connector is one of them. Go through this thread for locations. Check battery condition and alternator too at one of the big auto parts stores that offer that service.

Thank you going to look into that.
