I've been kind of chasing my tail with this charging thing :bang:
i put everything back together after the pulley repair. i swapped to the "new" voltage regulator. we drove it to the city and when we came back from our appointment the battery was dead.
i had thrown the old reg in so i swapped it out. went and bought a new battery and another "better" vr.
i swapped the new vr a couple days ago and checked it out with an amp meter. all seemed good. after lunch yesterday the dash lights up. shake the harness and they go out.....
take it home and start checking the vr. it seems ok. the symptom was wierd. lights on at start after a minute they go out.
looking at the diagram, i decided i must be having a resistance problem or something.
i started digging.
some other garbage repairs i fixed

i am pretty sure this is the root of the issue. that blue wire is the field wire. so alternator probably doesn't work good when it grounds out or shorts to the exciter.
my new VRs are oe style relay type. for lack of a better name. my other one is a solid state, so i kind of assume the voltage drop effects the relay coils but not the transistor in the ss unit?
anyway i repaired a bunch of jank așș wires while I was in there.

i also did some cheap front shocks. all the books call for a shock that is basically 3" too short. both of my shocks were blown with completely launched upper rubber.
the shop ended up giving me a pair of 96+ 4runner rears. right length but i had modify the lower bushings.
i found a couple other kyb numbers that would have probably bolted on but i needed these a while ago and i didn't want to waste any more time.

currently waiting for a spindle bushing because the ds inner started leaking again.

the dealer here wanted to charge me over $100usd for one bushing. i will have it from mc next week, paying shipping twice and its still under msrp.

new bushing showed.
maybe third time is the charm.
i picture is worth a thousand words.
not sure what to say about that upper trunion. it looks like i didn't grease it  probably the huge speedbumps aren't awesome for them either 😂
i was able to buy the bearing here local this morning. a mission that is impossible in the states 😂 $15 here.
basically no words for the old bushing. there's 110% zero reason for something like this to be in the wild.
$40 part cost countless hours.
mc inner seal. ftr mc has the best price in the world for oe bushings. cruiser outfitters offers a generic for like $15 iirc

vid on the tcase seal and 4xinnovations mount. i did not notice this amount of vibration transfer in the 4Runner with two of these mounts. 😂 truck feels a little tighter overall. old mount was launched. vibration is really only prominent at idle and low rpm.

I noticed I have less vibration with two of the HD mounts than I did with one HD mount. Was the bushing a dealer order or wrong repair from someone else? Glad it’s fixed now!

ya. i didn't get these vibs in the 4Runner with two.

i really don't know what the deal with the bushing is. it's been there some time. if i had to bet, id say the spindle probably got swapped. I don't really see these guys changing the bushing, especially at $100+usd.
vid shows how launched and sloppy the bush was on the axle. i was actually a little concerned the birf was damaged, but the bush compresses a little bit upon install. my birf mic'd at stock spec
