well it's about time a start a build thread. i'll start off with what my truck looks like at this very moment and what i'm doing now. i'll get a little bit up today, i'm about to pull it back into the shop and do the passenger side control arm bushings (did the drivers side day before yesterday)

creeper, it's a trail gear rock defense (for me iceberg defense) and i was able to get it here for $500. it was a pretty good deal seeing as how it was air freight and it's about a dollar a pound from anchorage to king salmon.

KLF, havn't tried the piaa's out yet but they are the driving pattern. i have another set with trail gears weld on tabs for both. i just got some rigid dually led's in the fog pattern too. i'll get them hooked up today and take some night shots to post.

Glad to see you got some use out of that locker, I had the same issue when I was IFS, Nice looking rig !

are you the one i bought it from dub?

pressing out the old control arm bushings. the lowers were smoked! my cousin took a little video of it. maybe i'll put it on youtube and post a link. got some new red ones from energy suspension.

Yep, shipped that thing all the way to alaska, sometimes I wish I shipped myself with it

come visit sometime in summer dub, i'll take you fishing. finally got my control arm bushings replaced. now i need to replace the idler arm and a tie-rod end then do the alignment.

awhile ago i had some crap fog lights hooked up as extra reverse lights and the wires got hung up on some bushes or something and grounded out.. melted wires and filled my cab with smoke. we bailed out and now i carry a fire extinguisher.

well my dome stopped working along with my clock and my stereo, never thought to check my dome fuse because i thought i melted some wires. well i wired my cd players always hot to my ignition switched wire because it was fishing season (i'm a commercial fisherman) and i was busy. so now i have to re-do my settings everytime i turn the thing off. so today when i was fixing random stuff that i've been putting off i changed that fuse and searched mud for dome light options and found a couple of threads, one of them was

https://forum.ih8mud.com/79-95-toyota-truck-tech/360692-weird-radio-wiring-issue.html

so i found out that all that was wrong was a blown fuse. i had no idea that the dome fuse was for the clock, buzzer, dome light and whatever else...

also, my truck is throwing codes 24, 31, and 41. tps, and air flow meter and air temp sensor. i checked and replaced/adjusted the tps and checked the air flow meter. they are within spec and was wondering if they share a common ground or what could be causing them to malfunction?

oh yeah, and i got the winch up and running again. bad ground.

If your carrying a fire extinguisher, carry a regular red one for anybody else's truck, and get a halon for your truck. If you ever have to clean up after a regular one you will understand, halon is worth the $$

I picked one up for ~50 bucks from a local fire extinguisher recharge place, just a Lil one

i will have to look the guy i called to recharge mine said when his tank was empty he would have no more halon. the 10lb ones i have around the house here were in a computer room we were demoing back in the mid 90's they were going to throw them away.

sorry about the hijack i am done.

i have a 3lb marine B&C dry chemical extinguisher. rated for liquids and electrical fires.

so now my clock will come on but the button's won't work. i took it apart and wiped the contacts down and pushed the buttons against the contacts with the cover off and nothin.. any ideas?

dome fuse is good now. but the clock was working just not the buttons... i went back out there, tried again, worked. hmm. whatever i guess.

leaking coolant from what looks like the water pump but it's intermittent. and now my grandma's rig (95 4runner with a 22re) is losing coolant and sounds like the water pump bearing is done for. looks like i'll be doing water pumps!
