So if anyone is interested we are going on a light wheeling run to prospect acess. Meet sooke A&W 10:00am.

(Bring FRS radios)

Well we are out of the bush safe and sound. Currently at the pub enjoying a cold pint :) pics to follow and info on access to be posted in the members forum.

Cool! Wish I could have joined today, but ended up being a day crammed full of family stuff.

I'd be interested to see the pics etc, but have no access to that part of the forum (I keep forgetting to ask about the membership process at the meetings).

So this was a run to scout out the trail for our Crusty run. For those who don't know, the Crustys are the founders of VI Cruisers. They put their hearts and souls into the club for its years of infancy. They moved to Australia in 2008(?)ish to lead the Toyota research and development department for Toyota's Australian division. Ok not really.... but the point is they are back for a visit and we plan on putting together a club trail run in their old stomping grounds. Steve, Nathaniel, Eli and I went to scout access and put together a trail run so things move smoothly when we all venture out on the 28th. All are welcome for the 28th run but be warned there will be scratching and without sliders and tough bumpers body damage will be unavoidable. Ride along seats should be available for those who wish to come but can't bring a truck.

We had some scratches here and there (just happened to be the same place on both trucks but the damage occurred on different obstacles). There was some high centring, some pull assists, one or two dug out dead ends but in the end we had fun and have a clear trail for Sunday (28th)

Further inspection shows a little more impact...

Picked up a crease and dent above cargo area side window. Not sure if we leaned into a tree or more likely, bounced up into a tree across the trail. Should have broke out the chainsaw earlier.

Also, the stud holding the hi-lift jack almost pulled out; letting the base of the hi-lift whack against the tailgate. I think the other end of the hi-lift hit too many branches.
