In addition to adapter, I’m looking for the following:

1. Parts to make an operating horn button. This is what I have and I’m told I’m missing the contact spring and a washer

i have 2 under dash hazard brackets to choose from

they are in the same exact condition in my opinion .......

comes with new OEM yellow zinc mounting hardware SEMS JIS

Matt, do you have a parts book picture of this bracket in place? I am not familiar with it. I've only seen the longer, three hole bracket that took the heater switch and the hazard flasher. TIA

I have several of these brackets that have come off Early FJ40's

it's when the HAZARD Switch Circuit was a Option or Optional equipment

and or Required By certain Destination Markets such as California Emissions Requirements

there indeed rare , along the same lines as a FJ40 early drivers side under dash radio & the Driver side FRANKENSTEIN Lightning Rod Antenna set up...

i will dig later and post what i can on the topic ..........

i un-bolted one of the brackets and it's RED Bugle horn Hazard switch's in Colorado many years ago ,

i am guessing in early years of FJ40 USA spec. there was NOT the extra dash hole provision for the extra now optional hazard switch ?

hence the required add-on under dash bracket ?

I assuming @Goforth / Charles does NOT have the extra later hazard Hole in dash , and why he need my bracket ?

The under dash 3 hole bracket i have seen , only for the 2 heater switches , and the V or vent cable ? / some have a chrome plug if no optional rear heater right ?

@ToyotaMatt you are correct, I do not have a hole in dash for hazard. I have seen this bracket on a few early 40's and envision using it for the hazard, the 3 hole bracket will have vent and 2 heater switches.

thanks!
Charles

i concur 100%

that is how i recall the few real world examples of the optional HAZARD Circuit
& switch assy.

- i have a first generation FJ40 both USA-Spec. and a NON-USA spec. wire diagrams , in both cases are official TOYOTA print media that show the Hazard circuit as a option or OPT. for short in the EWD

- i will post later for TECH reference purpose ............

- i do have images that show this on my Thumb-Drive Historical Archives Files too , i will locate and post what limited info i have on the topic as well

I regret that your reply makes it sound like I am doubting you Matt. Far from it. I have never claimed to know it all, or have seen it all. And I would just APPRECIATE a picture from a diagram of that part. Now that I have had all day to think about it, I may have actually seen one of these ONCE, on @FJ45Dude truck. And I think I remember mentally scratching my head about it at the time...which would have been almost two decades ago. :oldman:

I think he is referencing one of those early heater with vent switch brackets, believe crocket had one for sale last year. I have seen someone else use the spare hole on those brackets for a hazard.

I had to blocked Matt last year so I can’t see what he mentioned above. So if that’s it disregard my comments.

i apologize mark if i dove in with 2 feet, deep into the tech 2 fast ?

i meant no disrespect in any way , I simply was flashing back to my teenage years and recalling my adventures plucking Rust Free land cruiser parts on family summer vacations out in Colorado

i did not take any offense by your thread post whatsoever , you know i always value the experience of others greater then mine , i know you have over 30+ years of it , and well ..........

I consider myself , in class , sitting in the front row & staying after Class via PM. to ask additional questions any time you add your unique and valued input to any topic , any time ..........

your truly the Elder Statesman .......... :smokin:
