Hey guys,

I have an old, what I believe to be an aisin carb, from my parts pig that I think I want to put on my driveable piggy. My question is who rebuilds these? It has been sitting for about 8-10 years and looks horrid. Should I try and clean it up and just run it? The carb on my truck now is a weber and really puts so much fuel in the engine that I want to try the stock option. What do you guys think?

Does anyone have experience with a weber that could shine some light on how to adjust this thing properly? I have pulled the weber tuning instructions but i can't seem to lean it out enough to get good results.

if going with the Aisin, get ahold of Mark A., he's in Texas right now, try him next week.

How far have you gone into that Weber? If you have not found it then look up JohnnyC's weber thread in the 40 tech FAQ. Inspect and replace all jets with the correct sizes as suggested in the FAQ. Inspect and set the float to the correct level. Do you have a good pressure regulator? If no then install one.

Jim C rebuilds stock carbs too and then there's Trollhole's Cruisers (new carbs)

Mark rebuilt my basket case caarb and it works great! I'd have him do it - you'll never go back to a weber! 818-953-9230

Any idea on price on a rebuild by mark? I know he is out of his shop right now. Thanks guys

Thanks for the props guys. Just rolled back in from the long drive home from TX.

One of a hundred great anecdotes. Ended up meeting mep1811 at the Flying J gas station in El Paso to trade him some u-bold skidplates I had brought out for the event. He had just been traveling the same highway as me, about a half hour ahead of me, so he knew we had exactly the same travel conditions.

He complained about having run thru his main tank on the drive from Van Horn, 140 miles away.
He watched in amazement as I tried in vane but could not pump more than 8.1 gallons into my tank for the same drive!
His carb will be in a box on the way to me soon enough.

Modified stock carbs rock!:)
