Forgive me if this has been discussed but I cant find it in search.
Is it possible to manually engage the stock elocker in a tacoma? If so, how do you do it? This is for my gee whiz file and in case the need ever arises.

Thanks

I have unlocked them when the motor burned out, I guess locking would be about the same although it will be harder to get the splines to line up so you can slide it in. Just unbolt the actuator, take a screwdriver and GENTLY pry on the "rack" of teeth, to slide it towards the diff.

If the actuator is still working, then I have also read that you can manually run it with a 9V battery. It's just a matter of putting the battery across the correct pins on the connector, in the correct orientation. Check the various wiring diagrams out on the 'net, they will tell you.

I don't know which way you would want the polarity on the motor terminals... but here's a diagram.
