Ok, I'm not the sharpest knife in the 70 Series drawer....

When are the headlamp washers (JDM BJ74) supposed to activate? I see no switch so I assume it is bundled with something else. The jar is full but I gots no flow.......:bang:

If I remember my MA67 Supra from decades ago I think the headlamps washed with the windshield washer. If that's the case something is broken.

I thought there was a separate switch for the headlamp washers near the rear wiper switch and IIRC they were wired to work only when the headlights were on. It has been a while since I have seen a 70 series with the fancy features though;) if it is wired like the Supra to work with the. Aim washers, it may still only run with the headlights on.

All I have in that area is the rear wiper switch and the rear defogger switch.

Then it is probably like the 60 Series, should run when you hit the windshield wash button with the headlights are on. My high-roof 60 series in Japan worked like that. Shoot the wires to the motor, maybe it is kaput.

I'll have to try that combination. I do not remember if I tried it with the headlamps on. The rear window washer is confirmed Tango Uniform and I have to sort that out as well. At least the windshield washer functions.....

Try a quick double pull on the washer switch arm with the head lights on as mentioned

Thanks, that got me a bit further. I get a dribble out of one nozzle. At least the relay is working. Time to check lines.

I had headlight washers on my LJ78 and I never found a combination that made those darn things works. Windex and a rag is the solution. :D

True. My problem is I have a compelling need to have everything work properly. It drives me nuts when something doesn't work. Even if I never use it...

I'm more of a duct tape, wood shim kinda guy.
On the LJ78 I was more concerned with the engine exploding than I was with the headlight washer. :D

I don't have them on my 70

But...on some vehicles...you have to have the headlights ON to complete the circuit.

Just finished troubleshooting my headlight washers. My 1993 KZJ78 Prado headlight washers activate with short bursts of the button at the end of the wiper control arm (ie. the windshield washer button). Had to hook up the volt meter to figure that one out, as the manual is in Japanese.

In troubleshooting the system, I figured that the one-way, right angled valves were installed backwards! The system seems to be working perfectly now.

I just installed my head light cleaners, relay, etc very happy with them, chances of really needing them is very slim, although nice to know they are there.
To activate I needed to have lights on and the pull window wipers/squirter twice , bingo

I finally did get mine working. Both of the check valves were bad. I replaced those and now it works, when there is fluid in the jar anyway. It is leaking out someplace however and I have yet to dig into that issue.

On the other hand I may leave it as is. When those babies fire up it blasts the hood as well as the headlamps and most of the grille....

Oh, I fixed this one too. It helps to have the motor connector plugged in......:)

could someone with these things post some close-up photos of where all the bits and pieces are bolted on? I have the trucklite LEDs installed and I've been told they will suck in snow as they won't create enough heat, so I'd like to see them fitted to determine if I could get all the bits and install them without much modification before i go parts shopping.
