Did you just have them coat over the molding and seal it off? I think I have a color picked out but still need to decide if I want to do a two tone. The color is light enough to do the black bottom if I have to, but I'd rather do the work once.

Some progress pictures. The Dissent offroad bumper has been finished and is primed waiting for a final coat of paint.

I pulled off most of my armor including Labrak, BIOR dual swingout bumper, and sliders to prep for paint

Here is how she sits now, albeit with a bit more tape and masking done. Most of the truck is already taped off, sanded and is ready for cleaning and Monstaline application. It is sitting on jack stands as I did not want to get any paint screw-ups on my new Method wheels.

I also took this oppurtunity to remove the ribs from the roof rack so the roof is looking very clean.

One final picture before Monsterliner goes on. I just placed the order today for the 2gallon kit with a color decided. I hope it turns out good!

It is an 06 conversion grill that I found on eBay from Japan. It comes with a new OEM Toyota Sombrero

Got a link to that?
EDIT: Nevermind, I found them. Looks like they could be had for about $140-170

I think it really spruces up the look of the front end. It's much cheaper than a 06-07 front end conversion for sure.

It's partially finished. I still have to paint the mirrors door handles and front bumper but it's definitely getting there!

Looks good Duggy. Are those aftermarket tails off eBay? Also, how is the backspacing on the Method wheels? Looking into picking up a set soon.

@SUMMIT CRUISERS Jr i have more once i finish!

@2002LX470 yes they are. I wanted to emulate the 2006-07 tail lights with aftermarket but could never find any. These are full LED and are a very easy install. They shipped from Korea in about 2 weeks. he only difference in the styling of these are that the clear portion is on the bottom instead of the middle.

forgot to mention about the wheels. they are 18x9 Method NV +24 with Slee 1.25 spacers

I made some more progress today by throwing on all of the door handles, mirrors rear bumper swing outs and accessories. I also got the Dissent Offroad bumper installed with lights too.

This picture shows the stance of the Methods. I'm liking how it sits

I don't see a drop diff on your list. With the lift in front the CV's are stressed more and also CV boot can start leaking.

I need to update the mod list. I have a BIOR diff drop.

I'm heading out to the Ozark National forests for a 5-day camping trip soon so I needed some PM work to be done which include my power steering rack, ball joints and replacing the hoses for the power steering system. Before I would leak fluid on the trails pretty heavily and it's time to fix that. The ball joints should also get rid of the squeaking and both fixes should tighten up the steering tremendously.

Running on 35s previously really took it's toll on the steering rack and I didn't realize how loose it was until I took the 100 on the freeway after not driving it for a while.

The ball joints are not a bad job....if you have the right tools. The ball joint kit I got from Advanced Auto was a bit too short so I had to compromise with pressing the joint back on. I purchased made in Japan 555 joints available from Autozone with a lifetime warranty. They come in a Duralast box but are 555 parts.

I also added some bling to the Cruiser by installing one of BHicks 3D printing TEQ emblems in tan. I like the contrast. It was about the same price for an OEM emblem so this mod was a no brainer.

This has been a fun weekend. I started with replacing the balljoints and finally figured out how to correctly use the tool to press it back in. After I figured it out, I felt like a complete klutz that I spend almost 3 hours on the other side, when it only took me 30 minutes for the driver side.

Pressing the old joint out. This side was the worst as the joint was about to pop out of the socket. Glad I did it now instead of on the trail. Picture is also how I was able to disconnect the knuckle and not have to remove the CV axle.

I also replaced the steering rack this weekend. It was definitely a messy job. I jacked up the motor by the oil pan and slid the rack towards the passenger side, and then slid the rack out towards the front of the truck. I definitely found that to be the easiest method of pulling it out. The hardest part was disconnecting the hard line hoses which have little room for you to turn a wrench. I eventually found a shorter box wrench which made it a little bit easier.

I added Whiteline Performance steering bushings in there also for some added peace of mind. My old steering rack was definitely on it's last legs. I took it for a test drive yesterday and I cannot believe how tight the steering is now. Definitely one of the better mod's I've done to date.
