Last night I ran to grab a sandwich from JJ’s and heard a loud hissing noise. I dismissed it as environmental noise and decided to investigate when I got back to my rig and heard it getting even louder. I found something shanked into my sidewall... we have had snow recently and I’m not sure if a blade of some sort found its way into my tire while I was driving or someone executed some sort of vendetta for some reason, but I was losing air fast.
when I got into my truck I had 21 LBs or pressure and drove straight to discount tire which was about 3 or 4 miles away. I got down to about 10 PSI towards the last 2 minutes of the drive before I safely pulled into the lot, where it then (once parked) went all the way down to 0.
my question is, could this have caused any wheel damage? Should I be concerned or look to replace the wheel for safety reasons? Wheels are method NV. LT 275/70/17
Dark picture is shortly after I pulled in last night, daylight picture is this morning.
