I recently purchased a set of Drifta drawers for my LX. They are pricey but for the things I wanted in a set of drawers they were the best option. A sliding top is a necessity for me, so that narrowed it down to Drifta or ARB and the Driftas just seem like a better product, plus I dig the hidden slide-out table. If not for needing a sliding top I probably would’ve gone with the KISS drawers for much less money. Drifta is made in Australia but they ship regularly to Kakadu Camping on this side of the ocean and my timing was lucky enough that my wait time was only a few weeks. Just got word that they shipped today from British Columbia on their way to me. Also, they don’t charge sales tax. It’s expected to be self-reported by the customer... which I’ll certainly get right on.

I just bought my LX a month or so ago and made a lot of gear purchases right up front. Leather seat covers, awning, crossbars for a roof rack, fridge, weathertechs, and a bunch of other stuff. Matt at Kakadu Camping has been easiest vendor to buy from, work with, and has been very helpful and communicative. They made my biggest purchase the easiest of all of them so far.
I'm starting to build my own platform system in a similar vein as the SS1 design. I'm curious how those wings are supported on the outside edge?Added some non-slip so my dog wouldn’t fly around. My buddy soon after ordered the same system for his 200. Really great product. I wish I could have bundled a Yota key holder.

SS1 Kit.
On the SS1, we use no additional support. The hinge mounting points are CNC'd and the placement is carefully controlled so that the thickness of the birch panels is all that holds the wings in place. The two panels butt against one another and rest horizontal.I'm starting to build my own platform system in a similar vein as the SS1 design. That's what I would've guessed based on what I could make out of any pictures. Thanks for the reply! On the SS1, we use no additional support. I tried to do this on the first couple prototypes with manual drilling, but was unable to drill accurately enough to get the effect to work properly. I'm sure it can be done, but I needed a CNC before it worked as intended.
This simple approach is plenty to hold the wings for normal use. If you were to take a small sledge hammer to the wings or if you were somehow able to put most your body weight on it, I'm sure it would start to deflect, but this hasn't been a problem we've seen.
Using thick material (say 3/4") makes this approach easier, but then you've got an overly thick piece of plywood adding weight and providing no real benefit except providing some buffer for fabrication inaccuracies.
