All Land Rover Discovery II fronts are DC. I'll take a look at the shop and compare the ujoints and size to my LC, but I think they're pretty close. You'd need to have a shop work it over, but you can probably find the Disco prop shaft cheap at a local yard.

What year range of mini's?

83-85 comes to mind, I bought one off a guy parting out for 50$ but now that I think about it, I think those 4 runners that came after that used the same joint different shaft ect. check the wreckers.

Not the case.... My wife drives a discoII. New, they are $1200
most junk yards sell them for $300 - $400. some of the discos are 3 bolt flange too. It really is a ridiculous price. You can go with a Tom Woods for a custom shaft for cheaper.
Or the mini trucks like some of stated too. Also some of the dodge trucks have them too. Just bring it to a driveline shop and usually around $100 - $150 for the flange match up and length.

The mini DC shafts are different. The flange pattern on the double cardan joint matches, but the bolt holes are 10mm not 11mm like Land Cruiser. Also the flange on the other end is a significantly smaller pattern. It can be made to work by drilling out the flange on the differential.

The Rover shaft have that weird rubber thing in the shaft don't they? That's just a built in failure point. Remember, Rover guys put Toyota parts on their land rovers to make them last, not the other way around.:D

Must be a regional thing. DII's are common here, junkyard parts are pretty cheap. I'd not expect to pay over $75. Our shop buys complete vehicles for $500 regularly; whrn you tell someone their $4,000 truck needs a $6,000 engine, they're happy to walk away with some cash.
