Can’t seem to find any “how to” regarding replacing this piece (as you can see, torn up by someone trying to get into the car) - wondering if anyone has any guidance before I start popping things out. Seems like I might only have to remove the kick panel. Does the weatherstripping just push into place? Thanks for any help/guidance you can give.

I recently took the 80 down to the Pine Barrens to explore some forest roads. As I hit a decent size mud hole, a ton of muddy water entered the truck. Initially I thought it was through the cracked windows, but it actually came through the gasket surrounding the tailgate/hatch. After closer inspection, that seal needs to be replaced as it is completely blown out.

At a bit of a crossroads here as I am planning to hit the Rubicon Trail in summer 2020 and when I return I'd like to get the truck resprayed. Would all of these door and trunk weatherstripping seals typically be replaced during a respray? I'm trying to decide whether I should just replace the trunk seal now or do all the doors as well. Don't want to buy the same parts twice.

Not with my truck right now, but aren’t those door seals clipped in? So couldn’t they be removed and reinstalled?

anyone have the oak trim part numbers handy? I had them somewhere, but I think I could only find gray?

Only available in Gray and only 3 of the 4 available

Oak is not even available outside the US (Japan / UAE)

Gray Part Numbers:

62311-60070-A0
62312-60070-A0
62334-60010-A0

62333-60010-AO - NLA / Discontinued

Someone might make something similar. While watching the video of Joe Rogan's FZJ80 after the $150,000 total rebuild, it appeared that they may have installed a non-OEM part at that location. Not sure however.

Bump..just bought the fronts thinking they were oak for some reason and received the gray molding. Anyone try painting these dudes? Can't imagine spray paint would hold up well as it's a soft/pliable rubber. Maybe a stain?

In the same boat. Unknowingly got the gray and later found out the cream were NLA.

I bought a few shades of this paint to try and mix it to match. Haven't found the right mix yet, but in my initial tests, the paint did stick nicely and flexes well. When I do get around to finding the right mix, it will be tedious to brush paint them, but I'm sure it will work.

Went ahead and installed them as is, the gray color is not that noticeable from the outside since I've got silver paint. Inside the cab it's more obvious, I'll try not to look at it...
