well, I finally found some steel stock in the correct diameter, in chromoly no less, so now its time to order up a few feet, make(manually on the lathe) a few sets of pins and see how they work. once I get the first run done and make sure they work ok, I will get a larger batch made and be ready for the hinges to show up...

I took my hinges to the machine shop. Two or three days and $125.00 later, I had 8 new hinges with pins and bushings. Quicker and less aggravating than if I had to do it. Just my 2 cents.

I have a grand total of 16 hinges between the two pigs. I would love to send you one set at a time when you get going. Machine shop might be a viable option for those who cannot wait, but I love to see some one here get paid for their hobby!!! Let us know when to send em...Cheers!

Can you share info on your machine shop?; prefer Cruiser Brett but need hinges badly!; doors are popping open driving down the road; have tried Riche's technique but when I hit the pin with hammer and hardened drift after using mapp gas torch and 48 hours kroil oil.......... crap just flies everywhere including a shop window and my noggin TIA
