Don't You Wish Your Land Cruiser Could Do This When It Gets Stuck

Parents live with us on the farm and Dad purchased one of these. He was telling me yesterday how it can get itself unstuck. amazing how it doesn't mow the same direction each time, he says that it changes it's route each time and mows different direction while staying in it's boundaries.

Kinda impressed with this stuff. It's been very helpful for my elderly father in the heat we are having.

No doubt….Do you mind sharing what you consider. “Elderly”?

Thanks! Bless his enthusiasm for tech. I was quite surprised to see my mom start working a mouse 20 years ago on a Windows desktop. She graduated to an iPhone and surprised the heck out of me when she got it paired with blue tooth

Years ago I looked at robotic mowers, more as a novelty than thinking I needed one. Never liked the idea of having to bury cables in the yard to make them work. However, after buying my house here in KY which has a larger yard and being more difficult to mow I took another look. I guess getting older could be added as well. Having a yard with 30 degree slopes and requiring a 4-wheel drive mower was getting old, not to mention getting it stuck or tipping it over a time or two, got me looking again.

Segway released the X4 series the first of this year. Being new bothered me some but Segway's reputation eased that some. These are more of a lawn maintainer then a lawn mower. They even state to mow your yard before setting up the mower. They use a combination of cameras, sensors, Wi-Fi, 4G and RTK satellite data to navigate your yard. There are several settings for you to customize how you want them to behave. You can control when they mow, how tall or short you want your grass, between 3/4" to 4". They are not perfect but a lot easier on my body as I'm not spending hours and days trying to keep up with the lawn.

After running mine for a bit over a month I'm glad I made the purchase. If you think you may be interested I have a couple of links you should check out. One is Zippy Lawnz which has tons of info, videos and tools if you are considering a robotic mower. The other is Segway Navimow X Series.
