A year and a half ago we got this behavioral big old dog we called Rooster that the rescue head didn't have the heart to euthanize as she was advised to do.

This big lunk went from growling and snapping at passerby to this during that time.

Also, we learned his backstory. In 2022, a young soldier adopted him and then was deployed for 7 months. His wife emptied his bank accounts and then abandoned Rooster. He showed up 2 years later emaciated, and covered in blood, and meaner than a two headed alligator. But this is how he started.View attachment 4134135View attachment 4134136View attachment 4134137
The young man is out of the Army, but cannot take him back because of his life situation.

My old gal is feeling a lot better recently and is starting to ask for walks and play again. 15+ years do not look that bad on her

Charley is going through a phase where he has to eat alone. Not willing to push him on it and assume it's just the way it has to be.

Doing some dog sitting the next two weekends for another foster. I rescued her from east Tennessee where someone shot her in the head with bird shot. Blind in one eye but a really good dog.
