Pits and staffs are VERY different even though they came from the same blood lines many many years ago, kinda like saying we are all related,,,, somehow!!!
Pits are bred to fight, protect and hunt, Am. Staffs are the AKC show dogs, then there are english staffs, american bulldogs, bandogs, dogos, and the list goes on etc etc etc,,,,,,

Has a lot to do with "whats in a name",,, AKC did not like the PIT that refered to the dogs heritage and what it has been bred to do for hundreds if not thousands of years,, some records show dogs of similar decription as far back as Marco Polo's days in Asia and the Romans in Central Europe...

got to love them all!!!! loyal, protective, misunderstood, ,,, hey that sounds like ME!!!

Nice Belgian, Peter.

Here's a picture of my Malinois. He's six but acts like a three y/o as well. Amazingly smart creatures. But not for the faint of heart.

Ahh, someone who knows Belgians. Not a particularly common breed and not as you say for the faint of heart. They are incredibly smart- spooks some of our friends. It's funny how some people are afraid of our dogs just because they're black (and look a little "wolf like") and others come over to tell us how beautiful they look. After the Groenendael Mals are our favorites :-) I met a guy in the Coast Guard who had a Mal for a service dog and there is at least one in the local police dept.
