Dog owners with drawers?

Custom Air Down Gear Up setup to allow two intermediate gunner kennels for my GSDs.

Fits like a glove!

Still able to store DD supplies and emergency gear under the platform, though not room for much else but it’s only duty is to be a dog hauler!

How do you like the Gunner kennels? Did you size it tight to your dogs or give them a little room to move around?

They are super nice and very high quality.

Probably totally overkill and expensive, but the mutts are family and I like keeping them just as safe as the rest of us in the car!

One thing is I feel like their prices have gone up a lot over the past few years...I don't remember paying what they cost now, but I could be wrong.

They have room to spin around and lay down, but not sprawl out. I intentionally used the intermediate as there is too much room in the large. They are ~80 lb working line shepherds.

I have ARB drawers, ARB fridge and dog crate. The combo works great and keeps my pup safe.

I just wanted to Thank Sean for helping test fit the Large Ruffland Kennel with my LandShark Drawers. He kindly met me at the dog park and to test fit his Large Ruffland Kennel.


After extensive research, this is my setup. Due to the limited information available about drawers, kennel brands, and various sizes I would like to contribute my findings.

1999 Toyota Land Cruiser
Land Shark Reef Drawers
2 Ruffland Large Kennels
4 Year Old Female Samoyed 50 Lb 21" Shoulders (Could have gone with the Intermediate)
9-Month-Old Male Samoyed 50+ Lb 22" + Shoulders (Still Growing)
My second Row of seats is still in. I had to remove the 3rd row.

The Ruffland Kennels came the day we returned from our last trip. we used a wire crate for one of the dogs and the 2nd dog sat in the front passenger seat. Hope this helps someone.

So the largest one would be to big,
They are trying to tell me to get the large one for my 75lb male GSD, I just ain’t feeling it.

So now I’m running large in my e350 and they’re ok for the mutts, but they’re huge! Only works in a van.

Here’s two intermediate in the back of a 73. This is my current setup. They hang all day long during trials. Totally fine.

I’m also looking at Mike Ritlands colab with Dakota 283, his are called HERO kennels and have a trick one piece design and molded handles/attachment points.

They only come in one size. Roughly that of the Gunner Large one

I like the name plate area on the Gunners myself.

Time to measure the back of the LC tomorrow,

Yeah the Large Gunner definitely doesn’t fit with another crate or drawers. I have one I run next to a Ruffland in my Yukon, but it eats up most of the 80.

I currently run a Ruffland XL for my ~100lb BRT and it’s fine. He has more room than he needs in the Gunner L.

A little dated on the build but this is the current 80 series setup layout
