recline it back a bit

Recline works pretty well as do the seatbelt clips if I can get my kid to use them

Also, you can pickup self adhesive felt tape (I picked up a roll at Altex Electronics) and adhere to the latches. It will eventually wear through but it works. It's the same type of crap that American manufacturers use between two plastic surfaces, usually in dash or console areas, to quell or eliminate squeaks and rattles.

The above fix works really well, did you try it?

I have found that a liberal application of leather conditioner such as Lexol on the panels that rub on each other works very well. If you can lay hands on the Mr. T leather conditioner, it lasts longer than Lexol.
My regional Lexus rep advised me that 'Yota has switched to Lexol for both cleaner and conditioner.

Lexol is a great product. Helps squeaks. Not rattles!

FYI I always thought the rattle/squeaking sound was the car seats and then the headrests. After always adjusting the head rests and eventually removing them figuring that solved it. It always persisted. Finally found the culprit. It's the section between the 60/40 split on seat bottom cushion. They rub together making the annoying sound. Solution put a paper towel between the whole section and tucked it down. Completely gone! Finally peace and quiet, other than the kids.... View attachment 1040603

I have a brand new 2016 Land Cruiser. I've been trying everything to get rid of that irritating noise. I presume it is leather to leather. I wil try l try your suggestion. It is driving me insane...

The irony of this thread surfacing is almost too much... I was just looking at this issue the other day and wondering what the heck was waiting the rattle when the child seat was removed.

The squeak - coming out of somewhere in the middle/2nd row seats - is making me insane.
Need to figure this out before I drive off the road. It's not the headrests. Only when the seats are empty. And tilting the seats back does not help in my case, that much I know.
I thought I would check in here on the forum. Thanks for suggestions.
Back to the hunt.

Another thread suggested placing foam pads or towels underneath the seat. This worked for me (was only necessary underneath the 40 section). Several other suggested solutions, including felt tape over the floor latches, helped but this finally put the noise to rest.

THank you, very helpful! Like the foam pad idea a lot.

The PVC tape solution in this thread has worked fairly well for me. Also need to ensure the bottom is latched fully- I’ve had it only latch on one side and you really need to slam it.

A timely bump for me as well. I have the 2nd row squeaking but can't pin down the location. It's almost non-existent when my kids are in the rear seats and very loud with no rear seat occupants. I'll try the Lexol treatment.

Lexol might work.
I've read all the advice here and, as a first step, used (very) liberal amounts of my trusty old 303AP (from a spray bottle, I buy this stuff by a gallon for my boat) - spraying it on the seats and plastic, all over and under. Eliminated 99.9% of the squeak, and I am ecstatic!
I will be adding foam pads under those 2nd row seats over the weekend - should help with the rattle, and it couldn't hurt.
I have not been able to pinpoint the exact spot(s)/location where the squeak originates, but given the 303 helped I frankly don't even care. I can repeat the treatment every few weeks if it reoccurs, it is simple enough and good for the plastic, as I use this stuff on the seats anyway, just never sprayed it in between and under, lol, and now I will.

I'm a happy camper! Didn't think it was going to be that easy.

check this video guys. he managed to fix the issue with simple solution

I did this to my 17 middle right seat. Had a horrible squeak…….. sprayed the s*** out of it and put a folded towel under the seat. Squeak is gone for now.

Bump. Any new ideas for rear seat rattle mitigation on the 2hundo fellas?
Late to the thread here, but my 200 rear seat (the 60 side) was squeaky. WD40 worked for a while, but the towel under the seat work perfectly. No more squeaks at all. The towel gives it a nice, tight fit. Works very well.
