Heading up to to my cabin in Canada. Taking the coastal route with no more than 6 hours a day driving and the rest of the time in a primitive camp ground or camping on the beach (still a few place a person can do that).

Me, my son, best friend, and two dogs. The wife is staying home . Was thinking about taking my 40, but that would be a long trip. This is why I bought my FJC as a DD and camping rig. The trailer looks a little bit strange since it is set up to be towed behind my 40 and the tires are a better size match, but it can do double duty for this trip (and sprayed to color match)

Just seeing the canoe, the bike and the fact that it's a road trip means you are going to have fun.

Looks "expedition" enough to have "expedition fun"! Enjoy your vacation.
One thing though, what so :) about your wife staying home? That would ruin my vacation!

It can work both ways!

I was sarcastic when I titled the thread :p. My neighbor walked over and asked what "expedition" am I going on know so I thought it would be a good thread.

The canoe is a new to me addition so my son and I can go out in the small bay (ocean/ passage between Van. Island and the main land) on calm evenings to fish so I don't have to take out the big boat out. Water is like glass on good nights so it should work great.

Yes the seperate vacation does go both ways. :princess: isn't so much into 3 or 4 days without a shower, smelling like fish guts, and an unusual amount of facial hair growth. She is staying home to teach summer school. It works well for us and then we do a family vacation towards the end of summer. Ultimate bonding experience for my boy and me.

Got room for me? Have a blast!

That sounds a lot better, Slickrock:) So enjoy both vacations, then!

Putting a canoe in the Straight of Georgia would also be an Expedition !

Have Fun!

my wife is actually VERY HOT... I sometimes ask myself what I did to deserve someone as beautiful as her. We still do a family trip and a smaller couple trip, but this is just something I do with my son... Guys trip.

Already catching enough fish, clams, crabs, and oysters every day to keep ourselves full and happy. (I have my boat up here and the canoe is for the lakes.

27 hours straight drive home.... FJC did great.

Been wondering when you were getting back. School starts in a couple weeks.

I get an additional week off due to back surgery I had last week. Went from a great trip up at my cabin and 60 degree weather to the 27 hour drive home and into 105 degree heat. The I had a week to get things in order before the surgery. Can't wheel, can't work on anything, and can only sleep, watch TV, or sleep some more and the pain is pretty bad so I am done with adventures in the FJC or my 40 until first snow fall. Hell, I can't even get into my 40 for another month.

Pics of the trip. Not all of them and without touchup, but you get the idea Pictures by dbdecicco - Photobucket
