i had both, my pops borrowed them and i haven't seen them since, he acts like he has alzheimers when i ask about them. His employees love em though they work great in the shop.

450 DUDE has one of these...he's told me it kicks butt for heat output if you're looking for REAL heat output.

I tried a 125,000 btu propane heater this year and had a lot of problems with it. It was the tiger type blast heater.

I ended up returning it and getting a 165k kerosene heater. Those are nice. Lots of blowing heat for the shop.... or up my ladder when working on an engine.

Yes, I have the 2-burner Mr Heater. Scored it at a garage sale for $50 WITH the 30 lb full propane cylinder it was mounted too. Works great.

i have single burner different brand and its great. heats a tent or small garage. Now that I am getting older, when we camp i put one on one side of me and the fire on the other and its wonderful

Does a woodstove count?

Ok, I can't resist. There are a more than a few fireplaces made for yachts. Might want something bigger than an FJ* to stick one in, but it could be done. Some are small enough. I couldn't find the one that looks like a traditional cast iron stove, but here are a few. Dickinson has the Newport Solid Fuel Heater. P. E. Luke has a few different Soapstone units.

First one is a Dickinson, the others are P. E. Lukes.

Does anyone take the mr Heater camping? I will always build a fire but I can see how the Mr Heater would come in handy in a pinch

I usually just tough it out. No fire, no heater, just a tent, tarp, or bench seat in the cab and a very warm sleeping bag. I feel the key is having the appropriate equipment, clothing and wearing layers. On the other hand I'm getting older now. So when I do my Micro RV I'll be giving it a heating system. Likely a gas fired boiler from Espar. Diesel fired would be better, but then my 4x4 pickup has a gas engine.

Just came back from camping and the heater came in clutch as usual .

I really like it when eating or preparing meals to take the edge off.

It would be nice if Espar came out with a combo air & water diesel heater.

There are water to air heat exchangers complete with 12VDC fans that can be bought for a couple hundred bucks. I figure I'll be using one of them to heat the back of the Micro RV. It would also be plumbed so the engine can also provide hot water to it while driving or battery charging.

On the flip side you could get one each of air and boiler units and have redundancy.
