Just a thought. I fought this for quite some time. Turned out to be upper shock bushings. They conformed to the mount after awhile, and had to be what I would consider be over tightened and the thunk/knock went away. These were Icon shocks, but thought I would chime in.
It's worth a check for sure, I'll get under there and see how it's looking. The dobinsons bushings are really top notch but worth a check.

In case you guys were holding out for C59-185 rear coils, they just got restocked.

Just updated the first post with some parts options that weren't already listed, including the diesel torsion bars, and MRA front shock options.

Interested to see how many people have diesel 100 series here in the USA yet? If you do, please pop in and wave your hand. We have heaps of the diesel front torsion bars in stock and I figure since these trucks are only just now hitting the 25 year old mark, there aren't many here.

So this is probably a silly question. The IMS extended travel front shocks say they’re for a minimum 2-2.5” lift.

What Dobinsons rear springs would you pair these with to get ~2.75” in rear on a truck that has no swingouts/bumpers and is driven unloaded most of the time?

I ask because none of the spring options are greater than 2” and I don’t want something too stiff. Currently I run stock springs (no ahc) with airbags. Maybe 167 with the airbags? Or 185?

Edit: I plan to re-index the stock torsion bars

I ordered the full IMS kit with torsion bars, diff drop, and SPC UCA’s from exitoffroad.com. They showed up quickly and the ride is fantastic. Just enough lift, no more rubbing.

Very happy with the Dobinson kit thus far.

I ordered my Dobinson's IMS kit from exitoffroad/Mike a while ago and I've managed to put some miles on it. It's been great so far, I'd recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their suspension. There was great communication throughout the ordering and waiting process. I'm hoping there will be a front adjustable MRR, extended travel shock option for the 100 series in the future.

Here's a little video of my 100 and what the IMS/MRR looks like installed on my 99 100 series land cruiser, and some California climbing:

Which rear springs are you guys running?

The front shocks relate to the front lift height. You don't have to lift the rear that much if you don't want to.

C59-185 with no rear weight will be the closest to 2.5", but that's going to be pretty tall and they're also firm as well with no added weight. C59-167 would be more ideal so that it's not so tall or firm. And then run your bags in them.

Anyone running the C59-223V variable rate springs care to comment on how they like them? Doesn't seems to much feedback on them beyond a couple of posts here or anywhere else on the web. Currently debating between them and the C59-167 for a modest lift and extra payload capacity.

Of all the subjects regarding the 100, coil springs have to be the most subjective and difficult to wrap your head around. So many variables and personal experiences.

Do the IMS and MRA have recommended service intervals? For example, other rebuildable brands recommend service every 30k miles.

No they don't. The seals they use are much longer lasting than most rebuildable options out there

How are you all mounting the MRA rear driver side reservoir? I'm having a hard time orienting it so that it clears the LCA, anti-sway bar, and the hard lines (fuel or brakes, I forget) mounted to the chassis rails. I thought I had pretty good clearance, but it looks like the lower control arm made some contact with the LSC knob. The passenger side was easier as it doesn't have to contend with the hard lines.

Anyone have pictures of a good orientation? I'll try to get a pic tomorrow.

This is how I originally set it up, I thought it gave the most clearance for the LCA, and the reservoir is as high as it can go due to the hard lines. But you can see on the LSC knob that it looks like it still made contact, and I haven't even gone off road, just the horrible local streets, dips and speed bumps.

In the next photo, I've rotated forward more, but worry about contact with the anti-sway bar, even though it should have less travel at that spot.

Hey bud.

I reached out to Dobinsons and they got these photos from Kings Chariot in Jacksonville who has a 100 series with the same shocks on it to share these photos.

Basically the resi is at a 45 degree angle sort of from the axle housing.

lx470, rtt, awning, steel bumpers 2 inch lift, carrying +500lbs over stock at all times and often +1100lbs over stock (including passengers)

I am looking for a heavier rear spring, currently have "Ironman medium 0-440" (229lbs, 495mm) and I am only getting a 1 inch lift when properly leveled and raked after recently adding and RTT and 100lbs of drawers.

I am looking at these two springs, ironman says they will give a 2 inch lift but Dobinson's offers a heavier and longer spring but advertises a 1.5 inch lift. Can you extrapolate? Would you recommend the 185 for my setup?

"Ironman heavy 440-880" (274lbs, 475mm)
claimed 2 inch lift

"dobinsons c59-185" (277lb, 490mm)
claimed 1.5 inch lift

Who knows what Ironman are doing. They're listing the same lift height for an 80 and a 100 series, and they don't lift the same amount when you put the same spring on those 2 different models.

The specs I share are based on real world measurements. You can also see in the previous posts what people are getting. You'll probably need the C59-171, since you're shooting over 1100lbs when fully loaded, and 500lbs constant
