Do new body mounts help ride comfort?

All oem replacements. The frame side lower control arm bushings are the only ones I’m aware of not doing. Literarily every other mount is changed.
That's what I was hoping to hear, what are the other details of your 80? What suspension/tires/gear and how many miles? I'm sure you've thought of it all but there's gotta be an answer!

I think you are already a master of bushings replacements as you basically replaced everything in your truck already...... (i.e. front rear arms/bushing, engine/tranny mounts, diff bush).

The big ones for me regarding suspension comfort, would have been the front and rear arms bushings and ball joints (not sure if you replaced just the bushings on the arms or did you buy whole new arm assemblies which come with the ball joints on the front). Toyota doesn't sell ball joint separately, so you have to buy off brand, like 555. Tires are also important so get softer ones, not heavy offroad tires with aggressive pattern.

The other item is the front and rear sway bar bushings which are not too expensive. And tie rod ball joint on the steering rack a long with the steering rack has mounting bushings to the frame but these are not really suspension related.

All that's left is the body mounts which are a super pain to replace, let me know how that goes just thinking about it makes me cringe at the work required :)

I'm just getting started on my bushing journey. Replaced my steering rack today so new tie rod/ball joint and new steering rack has new bushings on the steering rack mounts. So it feels solid now when steering.

At the end of the day the LC is a work truck, it's the de-facto car chosen by terrorists and cartels after all to get crazy jobs done... Not a plush rolls royce.

I‘d find someone in SoCal that has quite some experience and ask them to drive yours and you drive theirs. Just as comparison.
Assuming body mounts are bad I can‘t imagine it‘s soooo bad as your first post describes.

Easy bet: let 20% are out and see how it changes.

I also hear (hear not feel) every single tar line on the highway but the car still nicely swings up and down w/o noise.

Just to rule out „subjective feelings“ before investing si much time and money. I think there are enough people in SoCal who could help/ compare.

Mine is a 100 but it’s a 2006 with 180,000 miles. Currently has dobinsons MTR shocks all around with wild peaks, it also has front a rear bumpers. Mind you, the vibrations I have experienced never changed with any modification. It originally had factory ahc and switched to factory traditional shocks then recently went to the dobinsons. At this point I really don’t like driving it. As much as I love the vehicle overall I get headaches about 15 minutes into driving it.

Has anyone installed new body mounts and felt improvement in ride comfort?

My ride is so harsh, it feels like I'm on the Oregon Trail, seriously. Makes me not want to drive it sometimes. No, you can't have it. :p

I've gone from E-rated KO2's back to P-rated Cooper Discoverer AT3s. OEM (Tokiko) shocks. Stock torsion bars and rear springs. I've replaced all control arms front and rear, or at least the bushings (front LCAs). New engine and transmission mounts. New front dif mount bushings. Trying to replace all rubber interfaces between the running gear and the body.

Still, every crack in our horrible roads is felt and heard throughout the truck.

I do have sliders, made sure they are not touching the body, but haven't gone as far as taking them off yet.

The only things left I can think of are body mounts, and/or going back to Michelin all-season tires to see if it helps...

After trying all the above, I currently have Dobinsons front and rear shocks, Dobinsons torsion bars, and OME 865 springs. OEM shocks and torsion bars couldn't really handle the added weight up front. I do have Dissent front and rear aluminum bumpers, winch, and Gamiviti rack.

But before trying body mounts, wanted to know if anyone has actually seen improvement.
Every 100 series I’ve been in rides like this. Some of it is tire related but I’ve been on E rated tires and brand new A/S Michelin Defenders 16” size without a truck load rating, just a standard street tire, makes little difference. As do a lot of the older Toyota SUVs. My LX drove like this at only 8 years old and barely any miles when I got it. We don’t have dry rotting issues up north. All my bushings and mounts look like new. A lot of the issues you read about on this forum are related to heat from the hotter states. Heater Ts, etc none of that stuff is even a problem up north.

Before you waste any more money on this just do what I did. In the warm months roll down your windows, even slightly. Makes a WORLD of a difference. When it’s colder just turn up your music and problem solved. My theory is these LXs are so quiet inside but the plastics and fit snd finish of the interior panels are not that great so you literally hear every creak and rattle on the road. My Sienna has so much more road noise that it mutes a lot of these noises and you don’t hear them as much.

I was really hating my suspension. I was just about to go down the bushing swap rodeo. but then I went and got king rear springs with a 30 mm spacer and went through my AHC and got all my pressures within spec. Now it rides softer than my newer Sequoia. But I know it’s AHC and not a standard suspension but I’m really loving AHC right now!
