maybe a stupid question but are all fj40 steel doors depressed along the middle going down the side of the truck. Pic attached with level going longitudinally down the door. Mine are both consistently depressed 1/8" or so. Depression tapers out at top and bottom. Assume they are factory that way?

Do you mean the outer metal door skin is bowed-in or dished somewhat?

Later doors, I'd say yes. Every one I've seen has, unless it's had a major resto.

yes, the outer skin is bowed in a touch. They are later doors. 80. My 78 doors were also this way.

Was trying to figure this out as well with my resto...finally just decided they came that way from Uncle Toyoda....
Makes it really fun to try and block the door properly...:worms:ended up just going with the flow of the factory skin.

Cheers!

I just ran straight edge across my NOD doors that have one coat of paint and zero miles. They have a dip in them as well.

There are very few perfectly straight or flat panels on a 40 period haha.
