Got photos of the inside of the tank?
Sorry I don't have pictures of the inside but I can try to get some to post. Have to borrow a video fiber optic camera. I have tried to keep it sealed at all openings, and it has been stored covered in a dry storage location the entire time I have had it.

remove the fuel pump assembly, 6 bolts, and look inside and can take a pic there also
then you'll also know the condition of the fuel pump bracket

Thanks. Wasn't thinking then realized the easy thing to do is what you described. Last time several years back a buddy of mine stuck a fiber optic in the another tank I had and took a few pics for me. Thanks again

As suggested here are few photos with the fuel pump removed. Additional pictures from the sending unit and fill openings. From what I can tell, obviously some isolated light surface rust mostly in the fuel pump bay partition area. The other 2 areas are pretty clean for a 38-year-old tank. The tank appears to be solid. A complete rinse, rust remover wash followed by a sealer would be recommended as a precaution. The pump and filter would need replacement. The pump bracket is solid with a cleaning. I could not appreciate any "thinned" metal using a crude technique of tapping the entire tank surface on both sides. Picture 1634 is where the drain plug lives. Have to split the post for more pictures. Hope these help.
