Does anyone have any experience with doing a dizzy recurve? Going to desmog my 60 here soon and will need to recurve it or have it done.

I have looked into it and would do two things. First you need to make sure that both your main and secondary advance diaphragms work. They are no longer available and really hard to find if yours are not working. This is important because how you recurve will be based on if one or both of those are reliable.
I know that Jim C in Ohio does an awesome job on recurving the dizzys for the 60 series when desmogged and will know how to account for any advance issues that may be present in the system.
When are you looking to do the desmog? I have done three on the 60's and would love to help if I can make the dates work...
Good idea is keep an eye out for a 60 dizzy... Good to have a spare as they are also hard to find when needed... Then you can send one out for recurve and run your other one in the meantime.
I think the electronic distributors like the HEIs automatically advance? Not too sure but I think that's one of the advantages.
Why the additional step requiring a dizzy and carb rebuild (to do a desmog correctly) if you want to go TBI anyway?
I'd go straight to the Holley TBI swap unless you had a good reason to desmog first. Also, with the desmog, how do you plan on getting emissions exemption?
If you end up going to a shop, you're looking for one with a Sun Distributor Machine. I found a machine shop/speed shop in Washington state that did mine on the Chevelle when I had a old school distributor. If going TBI, some of the Holley kits have a computer controlled distributor option, thats what I currently run.
