I'll bet I'll regret not going all alum, but with the budget I have allocated, I opted for OE + tranny cooler since I haul my camper with this 460. Time will tell... 😅
I went OEM, but that was before knowing about the all aluminum option. Oh well... the first OEM lasted 90k miles so I shouldn't have to worry for a while. ;)

OEM radiator cap is 1.1 bar. Mishimoto is 1.3 bar, CSF is 1.4 bar. how will this increased pressure affect the rest of the cooling system? will this expose weak points or cause hoses to blow?

i found you can get caps at different pressures. CSF 4503 is the oem rated 1.1 bar cap.

The higher pressure actually raises the boiling point of the coolant, which is probably good for the head gaskets.
I seriously doubt ~4 psi will have any substantial impact on the valley plate gasket.

OEM radiators are pretty good...and cheap compared to the costly prize you win for not monitoring for coolant loss regularly. I think I'm the only guy with the hood open, checking levels while gas is pumping at the stations around here. Occasionally someone will ask if I'm broke down. 🤣

I was checking my coolant level while pumping just few days ago. Not the only one 🤣

Did the coolant valley repair on my 2013 at 125k and am currently at 181k. Every day when I pull into the garage I pop the hood and check the coolant reservoir. I have also started checking my wife’s once a week or so on her 2020, now that it has hit 80k.

I check my coolant tank regularily too.. usually after 100+ mile drives.. only about 1/3 of the time if less than that distance
