Rob, can you bring Arron's big coffee maker? Marc, your offer to bring drinks didn't register if that's what the folks want instead of my thought. Peggy

Disney Spillways open!

Due to all the rain in recent days, the lake at Disney (Grand Lake) has risen to approx 6 ft above normal stage and still rising. All of the spillway gates are open, which eliminates use of most of the spillway areas below them. :crybaby: Right now it looks like the level may begin dropping by tonight or tomorrow, but I'm not sure how long it will take before it would drop enough to close the gates. It also possible that some or all of the gates could be closed to prevent flooding downstream (the lake is still approx 4ft below its maximum level).

Zane called Russ's number and spoke to someone who said that there were some rocky areas still accessible and that the trails outside of the spillways were open as well.

I don't want to put a damper on this trip, as I am looking forward to going back to Disney as well, but I did want to make sure everyone is aware of the conditions there and that some areas may not be accessible.

Very funny Matt. But I think you said you weren't making this trip. Have your plans changed?

Brian, haven't heard final word from you. Are you attending or do we need to change the meat in the stew?

Come to think of it, haven't heard from everyone if wild boar stew is even okay. It's getting close and I need time to shop so how about weighing in on this? Thanks.

Unfortunately my work schedule is not too great right now. I will only know by middle of the week if all is ok to go. I could still supply the meat if I can get it to someone. I'm hoping to make it to Osage City this weekend to pick up my cruiser there , but that too is dependend on how my work goes tonight and tomorrow.

Sorry, it's pretty iffy right now.

Okay guys, we are going with stew, but since we want to prepare as much as we can ahead of time, it be beef. Have 11 people so will plan for 15, always last minute changes. Will do breakfast burritos one morning and pancakes and eggs the other. Hope this is okay. Executive decision making powers ( I am an executive now right?) and Mike wants to shop today.

Mike and Peggy Or as an exec should that be Peggy and MIke?

Okay, anyone have directions to the park? I can't find any and I bet you all want the food to arrive.

from Langley, cross the dam, take the second right (just past the fire station) go to the T and turn right then take the 1st or 2nd left. You can usually find Russ at the large metal building.... that's the shop area, bathrooms and showers. If he's not there he'll come around and settle up on camping with ya whenever..... usually anyway.

Lake update

Good news, folks! It appears that they have closed the spillway gates, as they are reporting zero release from the lake as of midnight Sat. :bounce: :bounce2:

Hey old bats, oops, I meant old crows. I will be showing up friday morning. Will bring dutch oven for desserts. Everybody better be prepared to smell thi spoonbill left out of the water. It could be stinky in some areas.

Oh Craig you better be careful, remember who is feeding you. Old Bats indeed.

For all, if the numbers hold it looks like the cost for 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 1 dinner will be $17.00 per person, that is with 12 in attendance and 10 paying. Now, Craig may have to pay a premium to make sure his food is edible after what he called us. Then again, he is going to make his wonderful dessert so maybe we can overlook the insult this time. Of course he may know something we don't and we may be old bats.

Don't want to force my way in, but I'm planning on coming up to Disney Sat. as a fairwell to a friend, and was wondering if we could hook up for some wheeling?
