600lbs of steel.....pulled the factory bumpers and steps off. About yo cut 8 to 10" off the lower rear quarters.

Too late to go back now. Cut over 8" off the bottom of the rear quarters. Got rid of most of the trail damage but found a 1/4" layer of bondo in the driver side...I was going to bend a 90 along the bottom after cutting it but when I found the body filler that all turned to dust...

Got the bumper tube cut and a patern made and transfered over to the 3/16 sheet with the help of cardboard aided design.

A little progress, cut out the brackets tacked them together drilled and tapped the brackets, welded nuts on inside of said brackets. Made pie cuts to the bumper tube and welded the bottom back on.

spoiler alert...I have the rear done and the front done enough that I went on a trip with it....rocks where banged, miles of washboard roads where driven and nothing fell off or broke...…I will be inspecting welds in the next couple of days just to look.

I modified the ems latch to pull tight at over 90 degrees and this solved the problem of the latch rattling open.

At this point I've been working till after midnight every night and its only a day before I'm supposed to leave for an overland get together and trail rides for 3 days.
