Only one question before I hit the "buy now" button: have you checked clearance with a Speski Barrier in place?

After looking at their product page (had not heard of that before), going to go with a solid “probably not” since it mounts to the same holes.

And that goes for the Rack, not the brackets apparently.

I can work around the mounting brackets and just fabricate my own ;)

I’m more worried about the front, tall side edge.

This is really cool. Very nice and thought out.

I’ll measure from outside edge to the front mounting hole center. That should give you what you need to know.

From the center of front mount hole to the front surface of the rack is 6.250", does that give you what you need?

Thanks for reading and ask away if you've got any questions!

Firstly, not wanting to knock this product at all, because it looks fantastic, and I love the concept.

Have you guys considered the possibility of the 6mm hardware sheering off and the shelf coming loose in the cabin in the event of a major impact?
As I said, love this concept, but the small mounting hardware bothers me, and so far has me looking at other options.
Not sure whether its a legitimate concern, or too cautious. Have you guys considered this? What's your thoughts?

We have absolutely considered that. This is designed for softgoods up to 50 lbs, like in the pictures (in all reality, STUFFING it with softgoods nets you about 25 lbs max, the items in the pic total less than that). The 50 lbs number comes from the most conservative assumptions possible (like halving the strength from being in a cyclic load situation, which it's not, using a factor of safety of 5 in addition to a 5g loading situation). So quite confident it won't end up in anybody's lap.

So Speski barrier will work with the brackets but not with the unified shelf system?

So I should remove the axe, shotgun and barbells from up top? J/k.
I could be more concerned about the 4 factory screws from the grab handle failing than the supplied bolts to
secure the rack mounting design. I understand clamping force and sheer but still. Weld it! No...good enough.

I have to recommend using larger washers to grab the wire shelf piece. Holds firm.
Can only move it by banging it with a hammer now.
The wire shelf I used had a fair amount of tension scraping the delta bracket as I shoved it in. Tight fit.
The shelf did slice the upper side of interior trim as I pushed it in from the rear seat, the upper speaker covers are in the way from the back. Use caution when installing this part! I also zip tied a wire rack piece to act as a headache barrier to the front of my shelf. Not pretty but should work well for light material. Half the stuff is wedged against the ceiling.

Also if you use one of the wire shelf's, center it or bias the shelf towards the rear, more over the cargo area.
Back seat passenger heads will not come close the the rack and it’s easier to grab things off shelf from tailgate especially if your rig is lifted!

Storing sleeping bag, jumper cables, rain gear, tarp, rhino strap, siphon hose, air pump and medical Shtf bag.
I really like the extra storage! Cleans the floor for tool bags and heavy bulky gear. Everything possibly needed matters.
Had an extra shelf from food racks 47 3/4 wide by 18 deep sitting in the garage and saw this option.
Highly recommended as an option. Its been a storage bonus. I zipped it out once so far with a dewalt to move plywood, put it back in, worth the pain in the back. Ymmv.
Hope this helps sort out this attic rack question.
Thanks for making this bracket available Delta dudes.

If for some reason you have to pull that thing, when you go to put it back, don’t tighten the brackets until the shelf is in, a lot easier to get it all in place that way.

Yea makes sense. I removed the 4 Phillips mounting screws with the entire rack for hauling plywood.
It was easy taking down and reinstalling that way. Diy, learn as you go.

Cool. Thanks for the response

Working on a solution for this
To which one? ;)

Does the Speski barrier work with just the brackets now or is that the solution you are working on?

Not sure how it’ll work with the brackets, working on a solution that would add that functionality to the rack for folks who want it.

Hard to say if any of the Speski stuff would work with our products without having one of their deals in our shop.
