Had a good time. I have pics of an 80 getting towed home from the main gate at Hard Rock. I dont get it. I go to Moab... break nothing.... Alabama... break nothing... GSMTR.... break nothing.... .. in Ocala alone... 2 flat tires, lost a brake caliper, dent on each side, and now a birf. I guess I need to avoid Ocala.

Sucks that my rig gave out. I still think that there is an easy line through those rocks, and I will return to take that line as soon as I am capable to again. I knew something was on its way out at GSMTR. I would hear slight clicking under load. The birf is not broken yet, but now I am convinced its close to its last moments.

Now its time to think toward the future. I am in there, might as well do the whole front end service. Then I have passing thoughts of upgrades to Longfields and stuff. Then I think about how long am I really going to keep this truck. Its is worth throwing coin to upgrade stuff if I am willing to sell it? Maybe I should just do the axle service and be done with it. I know the brakes and front bearings and good, as I did them before the Moab trip (8K miles ago).

Anyway.... good time. Sorry I had to bolt to soon. Would have liked to see more of Hard Rock, but that was my fault. HAd a great time, and it was noted and commented to me that "Everyone seemed so nice, and it was nice that that it was a family thing"

2nd the family comment. It's good to see everyone getting along and just having a good time. Even the AAA tow truck driver I rode home with has an 85 4Runner he's looking to wheel - he even seemed interested in GSMTR as he's gone up with S Georgia Jeepers a lot.

Anyway, Cliff if you want help with that brif/axle job, we should do a tech session at Luis' house! If you've already done bearings, it's just a couple of oil seals and misc gaskets, pinion bearings and grease (well, something to clean it all with, I use diesel fuel). Luis did ask me on Saturday who needed something else fixed so we could have another tech session up there ;)

Wow maybe its good I didn't go... Sounds like 80s were dropping like flies. We.need a full carnage report for the weekend

Let's see if I can get it right:

Rocky: Front drive shaft came out (twice, trail fixed)
Jessie: Smoked clutch
Cliff: Front PS birf
Carter: Alternator (probably)

I think that was really it?

Here's what we took. I'll put them here if you don't want to download them from the box link carter posted

I dunno. I was kinda shocked at how small it was compared to how big it was last time I saw it. Are you doing something you shouldn't be doing?

Wait a minute, I don't want to know the answer to that question. Nevermind.
