Looks good guys! I'm bummed I missed you guys on this one. Anyone wanna wheel between now and Aug 27th, (weekends included)?

Dylan

I MIGHT!!!
My mom is gonna be in town, and my step dad might like to do a day trip with me!
Some thing he had NEVER experienced before!
Lets talk about it!
Maybe we could do Strawberry as a day trip!?
How'd your trip go?
Where did you end up?

K

I'd like to but the schedule if pretty full for the rest of the month. I could maybe slip away for a Jumbo grade day trip or Bronco.

HMMMM...
Jumbo may be cool for the step padre...Its colse enough to where if he is HATING it, its at least a short trip back!
Bronco may be a bit too much jostleing around for him!

Post up if you guys wanna go, I am itching now after seeing deer valley pix.

Dylan

For which one D?
Would you wanna head up for Jumbo, or Bronco?
If so, youre welcome to stay at our place...
We have a spare room for you with your own bath and shower etc...You would have to share the bed with the dog though!

When are you guys thinking about going? Where are these two trails?

Just talking right now.

The trails are in the Virginia Range between Reno and Virginia City.

Jumbo Grade trail is an old toll road that was used to haul ore from VC to the mills in Washoe Valley before the rail road was built. There are a maze of old mining roads in the area and some stuff that is fun to play on. The trail is usually run from Washoe Valley to VC.

Bronco Canyon is further back in the hills. It is a mild trail for the most part. The last very short section is a boulder field that a lot of guys use to test mods on there rigs.

In the area of Bronco is Dead Horse Canyon, pretty much a dry stream bed with rocks ranging from melon size to appliance size. It's short but tough to do in a single day. These trails can be reached from Lockwood, or Mira Loma road, or from the road behind the school by Keith's house.

I love that I can air down in my driveway and go wheelin. :grinpimp:

It was pretty tame for my rig, but it was a lot of fun watching the wagons walk through the rocks..

I thought it was kinda boring watching our wagons walk through the rocks?

It was more fun to watch Blotch FJ-60 where Chicago and his buddy getting a mild whiplash every few seconds sideway while we were drinking cold refreshing soda without spilling a drop.

Cheers,

Actually,
the "jostle factor" was a BUNCH worse when the rig was SUA...

Cheers,
I enjoyed watching everybody, and driving my own rig. I don't think I could get bored with the surroundings we were in. Well maybe if I were stuck with the Hummer crowd.

My eyes did get a little tired of watching brake lights all day though. You guys with autos and your two footed driving.

The ride in Keiths rig will get better as the leaf suspension wears in. New springs are stiff. I agree the 100's coil over suspension is nice, if I had the resources I'd change the 40 to coil over suspension.

Im tellin ya,
the rig rides like a caddilac compared to SUA!
THat was the FIRST thing that I noticed when I started driving it...I wasnt gettning JARRED over the bumps....Granted it will never be the PLUSH IFS ride they have, nor would I WANT it to be

I even asked Jeff if felt like we were getting whipped, and he said...not at all, and that it wheeled better than it had ever did before the SOA!
Oh well...FU*K IT...I thnk it wheels with the best of em and deserves it props!
Clearance alone schooled the 100's IMO....since a comparison was made!
