Normal cost for a high pressure power hose $350? Yikes! I'm assuming this stuff is OEM, but is it really that much better than some of the after market stuff? Just curious.
There are reports of the NAPA version of this hose not lasting long, though some have also been rocking the NAPA hose for a while. Rockauto also has some potentially good quality lower priced alternatives.

What about the offering at Cruiser Yard? Has anyone heard anything one way or the other?

I placed an order with Marietta Toyota on Saturday and just got a response that the order is cancelled and funds being returned to me. Knew it was too good to be true!! Haha

What all did you buy?

Edit: “try to buy”

I pulled the trigger on an order from the Decatur location.

I called them to make sure they knew the order was legit since I was buying for 3 cruisers. They sounded overwhelmingly busy.

We will see what they come back with because I purchased the short block, head, cams, couple of rads, HP hoses x2, PS res, brake booster and a bunch of other s***.

The savings are unreal. Cheaper than my favorite Dubai warehouses.

I think even the witsend website says OEM is probably overkill for that part unless you're really an OCD completist with fairly deep pockets.

Just confirmed with the dealership my cancelled order was due to backorder with no eta, so might not apply to you other guys who ordered stuff.

Thinking about ordering a 1fz short block as well. Did you order all of the parts to assemble the head as well? From what I have heard, toyota only sells the bare casting.

UPDATE: I emailed Marietta Toyota inquiring about the "FREESHIP" promo. That is good ONY for orders over $75 so I canceled the order so I can order more! ;)
They responded so quickly.
The fine print also says that the FREESHIP code is only good for up to $200 worth of shipping and handling fees.

Negative. I only ordered the "big" stuff. All the components that go inside are cheaper via PartSouq.

I like numbers so let's talk numbers.

Last I checked, Decatur listed 11400-66041 at $2763.46. Let's say shipping is $700. It'll be $27XX+ $500 less the $200 = $3200. My short block cost me $3500 + 9.5% tax = $3832 for a delta of $632. Is it worth it for me to get the short block at the time promised and if any issues I can deal locally? Yes. In fact, my Toyota parts contacts not only delivered on time, they held the block in their warehouse for over a month while I waited for shop time. Bonus, they delivered the block to the shop when ready. This makes this promo not super attractive to me given how risk averse I am with stuff like this. I want things done yesterday.******

Partsouq doesn't even sell the 1FZ-FE short block or the cam shafts, etc. Even if they did and even if shipping wasn't cost prohibitive, just imagine the sht show if there's any damage to the hardware during transport. Ya done good.

I'd hazard a guess these parts counter workers are regretting the promo. They had no idea what they were getting themselves into. This promo info is all over ih8. Fresh pile of Elk meat in the wilderness.

They quoted me $300 for freight shipping -$200 for the promo = $100. Let's see what it actually shakes out to be though.

I guess thankfully for them a quote isn't legally binding, but I hope it works out for ya! Short block for <$2900 delivered would be the steal of the century.

Yeah, I read the gotchas before pulling the trigger. $300 seems too cheap but I'm waiting on a response. I emailed them (after trying to call) regarding cost of freight shipping. I dropped just a hair under $8K this morning and I want to be sure they contact me with total cost before they source the parts.
