All,
Like everyone with a 55, I have struggles with the rear tailgate window gear. I have 3D printed the gear file floating around mud, and it is good, but what I have found is that the "double D" hole in the center of the gear is loose and over time it becomes more loose. The looser it is, the more the gear binds and then the teeth shear. The original Toyota gear (see photo) had a metal center with the accurately sized hole to fit on the shaft. I have the ability to modify the 3D file to receive the metal center piece but I need a metal center peice.
I am looking for an original Toyota gear that has the metal center peice intact. The vinyl part of the gear can be damaged, broken, missing teeth or non-existent. If anyone has a broken, original gear, Contact me.
