Dash Light?

In my 68 FJ40 there is a light Socket to the right side of the glove box. Is this the interior light? Is this an indication that my cruiser was a soft top?

If so, does anybody know where I can find a globe or cover for it?

Fold down tailgate too ?

you door hinges look to be FST as well as your tailgate....that is a one piece i see in the back correct?

do you have the eyelets near the door hinges also.


I would say your rig is FST then

You are correct. My 72 is a FST and it has the same light. There is a pull switch near the ash tray for this light

I do have the fold down tailgate. and the threaded eyelet holes in the door jamb. It also has a brackets in the back corners that appear to be stock for the soft top bows.

Any idea where I might come across one of the courtesy light covers?

ther are not too easy to find...but...there are many people here on mud that may just have what you need...put up a wanted in the wanted section

There are a few license plate lights that use the "hood" to redirect the light. Might look at your local parts house to see if that is an option.
