North American market got a padded dash on the top of the dash as well as across the bottom. The bottom padded dash closed under a little bit and we no longer had a place to the Darth Vader light under the dash. Very possible you still had the place to mount one depending on market.
In this case.....it's in the OEM tool roll under the front seat....last summer i did have to dig thru a pile of tool kits to find it.....I kinda forgot how many toyota tools I had.....was bummed when I realized I only had 5 new hammers.....should have got 500......they are sellin for stupid money.
I'd love to make this in our cnc shop... at least the helmet part, maybe someone else on here could help with the light component. If someone wants to send me an original to pull specs from, i can make it happen then return the original of course.
Found this thread as I was looking to figure out if the Vader light switch in my ‘64 was correct. Saw the pictures posted by @Coolerman and @65swb45 and determined that - as I suspected - mine is not original.
Mark, if you see this, be prepared, I’m going to want to get one of those switches you pictured when you are ready to ship my carb back. Shoot, who knows how long my list might be by then.
I just got a 3D printer at the office. I am using it for printing dental models, with the thought of other stuff like this for fun. I havent figured out drawing stuff yet, but if someone would come up with an STL file of the part I will try to print some. I cant promise anything except they will be very, very cheap!
